Xbox carries momentum from last gen and lost this gen.... PS2 carries momentum and screwed that up with PS3. Today’s momentum does not mean anything until we see next gen in action and how it’s handled by each company.

@frostypants: They can easily recreate older, much cheaper tech and make it slightly bigger to hold the CD at a very inexpensive price. They just don’t want to put the effort into it.

I can name about 50 things that keep it from being perfect. But the good way outweighs the small things that are minor distractions.

It's the same reason why everything for Nintendo is higher priced. Games that are currently $20 on the other consoles are $60 on Nintendo: because Nintendo fans are desperate that they've been left out for so many years that they're willing to fork over the amount Nintendo asks... without question. That's the biggest reason why Nintendo have never been forced to lower prices substantially. Even older games on Nintendo consoles barely drop in price.
