Er, the MW3 campaign so far has been serviceable. BF3's was boring, it's basically the same thing as CoD but without any great set pieces and constant QTE's.
@The haters
Been playing CoD since 2003, ie when the series launched. Even though I tell myself I'm not going to I still find myself in the store picking the game up like clock work, I have done this for 8 years now. Finbars, there was a huge leap between CoD1 to CoD2, and CoD2 to CoD4 visually and gameplay wise. I agree that since WaW, it's gotten pretty stale and feels a bit directionless at this point, but dont paint CoD's whole history as something derivative....
Pretty much what you said, it doesn't look offensively bad and I'm eager to see how the MP turns out.
Love how no one else actually posts valid reasons for thinking this looks "bad".
Yep, it has Battlefield 2 in the name but it definitely isn't the same game by any stretch of the imagination. I did like quick switching between soldiers on the ground in the SP, to bad the rest of the SP was a god awful mess. MP wasn't that bad, it just really really really wasn't BF2.
I don't think anyone here or anywhere expects this game to be a multi million seller. None of the other Postal games were, I really don't see this changing now.
But, even if I am the only one who purchases a copy I'll enjoy peeing on dead people and then lighting them on fire....that's we we play games right?
What have they shut down that required a online pass? NHL 10? They've removed a feature from EA's MMA title but not the online play itself. Guys the servers for AIRBORNE are still up, Medal of Honor AIRBORNE! It's not like EA pulls everything down. It's all based on how much use the servers get.
NHL 11 is 20 bucks used, if playing NHL online is that important to someone I really don't see them not picking up 11 or 12.
Yes, because the things listed other then improved physics and AI are just great...

Exactly it's a server side mod not a "hack" so much.
They removed the destruction largely because they didn't like how by the end of the round both teams had leveled every building with four walls.
The views BC2 would give you of the maps, looked real silly sometimes.
"Full formed polish of a regular BF title", BC2 had its fair share of bugs and BF2 was atrocious at launch.
Battlefield has got iterative improvements over the years. The gun play for instance was ATROCIOUS in 1942, Vietnam improved it and BF2 improved it even more. CoD over the 8 years I have played them, have not changed half as much as the Battlefield series.
Even on the PC it was a extremely limited test, DICE pulled all the Caspian Border servers down. It was good though, definitely felt like classic BF.
Wow, that is a bold statement to make. I hate that people think casual gaming is the future of the industry. Simply, casual gamers have never kept this industry going and never will. Mario is legendary and has been since it first was developed, Angry Birds is just a game that a bunch of noobs participate in.
You're only missing awful accents and a overly idiotic story. It's a unique game, but not without some serious flaws.
Bingo, Stoney got it.
Crysis had a very different look to it, and imo that photoreal look was superior.
Every card in the top 10 on Steams hardware survey is capable of running every multiplat better then its console counter part. Then to add to that, the higher resolution, smoother framerate and either as good or better textures/AF make for a better looking game without going past "medium" settings.
I know plenty of people who have to game at lower settings to get by, I had to for a lot of years. But seriously, don't pull numbers out of your ass.
@Jdoki
The clock speed of the CPU isn't really that important. Also from the Steam Hardware survey itself:
4 cpus
39.50% Apr
40.29% May
40.93% Jun
41.37% Jul
43.48% Aug
The number is rising and if you looked you would see the Dual Cores are dropping each month. Also here is a list of GPU that are currently above the 8800 and 9800.
ATI Radeon HD 5770
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

If only I wasn't running the beta on two different machines, both with a mixture of Ultra and High settings. Then your theory about no one having a PC who could run the game would be semi accurate. It's not even high end hardware.
You should also try playing some PS2 shooters, you either never have or you have some memory issues.
Yeah, who wouldn't be excited for the "Return" of the real battlefield? But lets face some facts, it looks better then other console and PC shooters, it sounds better then other shooters, it has amazing animations and I feel like my body actually weighs something. The shooting is satisfying and I'm sure the vehicle controls are still excellent.
So I guess with all that being said, we should be REALLY hard on the people getting hyped about the new CoD. What h...
First of all, Modern Warfare has not changed since Call of Duty 4. The animations are exactly the same, except for one small change with the way the player holds the gun while he runs. Other than that, nothing really has been added. Secondly, MW3 will be releasing monthly DLC for most likely 10-15 bucks. Before the year is through, you would be able to buy like 4 games with that money. There is no way that I'm sitting on the fence about this. Battlefield is a stronger game and has been si...
No game should ever get a perfect score, no game is ever perfect.
