Last gen was a good learning experience for PlayStation. If your bread and butter since the original PlayStation, 3rd party partners, are getting moneyhatted by your biggest rivals in the world to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars ( I am looking at Final Fantasy, GTA, Monster Hunter, Tekken, Resident Evil, Metal Gear) then you up your own first party game development to the maximum premium quality! Then boom! You have Uncharted and The Last of Us!
I have seen grown adult men reduced to man tears just watching the E3 trailer how much more the whole game.
