Some or many blu-ray movies are region free.
I dont understand who has the authority to say what is and what isnt region free also how comes ALL HD-DVD's are region free??
I think what it REALLY boils down to (no pun intended) is that the game with movie will be a lot cheaper in the US because of the exchange rate and want to make sure that enough of the games are sold in Europe rather than on import from the USA.
I know someone that that has the ability to check with certain folk in Microsoft so hopefully he has good news for me.

Last I heard the new 65nm CPU and GPU's were already being manufactured and my guess is it will be in the ELITE for Europe however still only a guess.

Once you send it for repair thats why its taking like a month they are upgrading it with an added heatsink.
However the ELITE's that are coming out in Europe will most likely have the new 65nm CPU and GPU which means no extra heatsink is required.

If Sony publish MGS4 then it stays on the PS3 unless Sony sell the rights to publish the game to someone else in the case of Half Life 2 for example on PC its Sierra on the Xbox its EA and since its EA they are minting the game and bring it out again but this time on 360 with extra stuff and PS3.

Since HD-DVD is indeed the better format for reasons like EXCLUSIVE in-movie experience and EXCLUSIVE other content for this particular movie it was an easy choice.
300 on HD-DVD has extras that Blu-ray version does not have.
Also due to better encoding on HD-DVD discs this movie is sure to look better as well.

What I dont understand is from what I read Sony was 'assisting' Konami in the way of funding for MGS4 now if this is true then why on earth would Sony sit back and allow the game to go multi platform? It sounds a bit stupid.

What about those that are just interested in movies and not playing games.
The major disadvantage is the PS3's 2x speed blu-ray drive whereas blu-ray players will or have hit 6x speed or higher.
At the end of the day you can stock more films depending on which format has what.

It was stunning visually, and oh boy it was a LONG demo I thought any minute its going to end but no it just keeps going and going! Downloaded it from the Japanese marketplace and it was in English!!

No, the noise has nothing to do with the heatsinks since the fans are not regulated on how much heat vs how fast the fans go like in the PS3.
The noise is mostly caused by the fast 12x DVD drive in the 360.
If Microsoft bring out the new chips that means less heat which means they could probably use less cooling or lower spin fans in the console meaning on idle it should be rather silent.
Thats part of their cut cost strategy I reckon.
