Well, I'm glad that I didn't listen to all these reviews. I am having a BLAST with Assassin's Creed. I've been playing it tonight, and people are being way harsh about this game. It is open-ended and a really good time. It is definitely different than anything you have played before, but I like it. Just my 2 cents...

Seems this is a love it or hate it kinda game. I know the feeling - I absolutely HATE Oblivion and people LOVE that game!

Unacceptable in 2007. Period. I didn't spend several hundred dollars on a game system to play games with this kind of problem.
You took the words right out of my mouth (or post). I was just about to say that. In fact, I was doubting this game the MOMENT that it was announced there would be no demo. They do the same for movies that are all hype and no delivery.
Looks like I'll just keep my focus on Ratchet & Clank (second playthrough) and Mario Galaxy that's out this week.
Add this to the rental list. Just saved myself 60 bucks!

R&C Tools of Destruction is not selling high numbers? I love the game, and it's disappointing to not see it doing better. I was hoping for future DL content for it if it did well.
In-game XMB is not very important to me… **BUT** I completely agree with so many people being upset here.
When you buy in to the most expensive game console on the market (vs. Wii and 360) - you expect the BEST experience and feature set right out of the box. At the very least, you expect critical features like this sooner than a year after release.

I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post. I wasn't focusing on the MART - just on the fact that people should like what they like.

It will be so much easier when there are no more "physical" storage like HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, whatever. Eventually, it will just be hard drives with data - no more physical CDs, games, etc.
That would be so much easier... I just wonder how long until it is all like that?
