Do you even realize how generic and bland killzone's gameplay is? I'm almost done kz3 and the design they integrated in the maps like the jungle are awesome, but that doesn't justify that the gameplay is straight down boring. Has to be one of the worst multiplayers I have played, both kz2 and 3. Crysis had a great gameplay experience.
Did I say visual wise? No, there is a lot they could do to build the story and game better.
