@NegativeCreepWA - Will definitely try Prey!

Oddly, I feel the opposite of Valve's games. Left 4 Dead was the biggest disappointment ever, I still don't understand the draw to it.

Even the Call Of Duty World at War zombie game is more fun than Left 4 Dead, IMO.

Gears Of War? Come off it - linear console shooter.. not even a FPS. Shouldn't be compared with Half-Life, ever.

Being a PC gamer I haven't played Demon's Souls - sounds interesting, though. I'll have to give it a try at some point, thanks!

I respect your opinion; but disagree. Did you see the video ( http://www.youtube.com/watc... or indeed play through Hl1 yourself at release?

It's unbeatable. Read the article for why :)

Think you're missing the point - perhaps it wasn't obvious (at first) but it's meant to be a 2-sided debate piece. The rest of the article was in the comments section - it's now merged into the main article.
It is, after all, an 'opinion piece' - so you can dislike what the piece is about, and you can dislike the opinions - but nevertheless, we feel it is a commonly debated subject and wanted to put our spin on it.

I'm not sure you grasp just how useless encrypted data is, without the encrpytion key? This is the whole point.. only YOU have the key - without it, the data is useless.

Read up on it before (wrongly) commenting! :)

This is wrong. They have the passwords heavily encrypted that are readable only with the key that YOU have!

Will check out Tribes, but from that Youtube trailer it doesn't like as nice as Section 8 Prejudice :)

All formats, SpaceSquirrel :)
Edit: Well, the 3 important ones anyway...

Agree with this, it would be just like Valve to just release Ep3 without any prior mention. They have, afterall, been remarkable quiet on the subject since Episode 2.

Early release doesn't make sense, I agree. However *something* will be released and playable by 9am PST (4pm UK time), I have a good feeling about that.

Red Faction: Armageddon looks interesting, one to watch!

"more guns" and "better DLCs" - does (and has) never made for a better game, though. .?

Jets, however. . :-)

This article (if you read it) isn't pro-piracy propaganda. . so your "OMG HELL NO! GET OFF MAH INTERENETZ" replies aren't just.

It's a light hearted take on why anti-piracy measures are poor, and inconvenient. We point out that as things are; it is quicker, easier, and more painless to pirate a game than acquire it legitimately.

Lelldorianx - you need to relax my friend, a give us the benefit of the doubt when it comes to 'tongue-in-cheek' humour. Of course its immature (there's a picture of a kitteh in it?)
Its not a thesis. It's a light-hearted article.

PimpHandHappy - I think you're missing the point.
In your analogy, then the scenario would be that I take food from your fridge because the only other option to be purchase it from a shop 100 miles away.

If you made it easier / cheaper / more convenient for me to purchase food, I wouldn't be inclined to steal it from you.

Fair point, and a 'pay-what-you-can' model would accommodate the 'younger generation' to be able to play the games (without pirating) but still deliver the sales figures?

Thanks for reading

That rumour is looking more likely than Ep3 / HL3 / CS2 / whatever at the moment! :)
