I agree with you in that they are both different games, though they attract the same young mindless gamers for one simple reason, ANYONE can get involved and in a short time excel.
call of duty is easy adhd fps that anyone can excel at with some practice.
battlefield is thought required tactics that's not for everyone. practice all you want, if your selfish or stupid (most) then you could never truly excel at battlefield, which in turn will bring you happily back to anyone's shooter, aka cod/halo..
boil it down and it's really all about easy or not so easy.

I've owned every nintendo system since nes and I passed on the wii because it looked like crap on my hdtv.
I don't know anyone that could be so called "core" and still playing on a tube tv. so with this alone they abandoned the core gamers imo.

MK7 runs at 60 fps on 3ds, it's very fluid and clear.
in most full battlefield games your looking at maybe 4/24 players playing the Game as it was designed to play, focusing on the objectives..

if you've ever played a match where every player wants to win, it's pure Nirvana. 3 squads on each team working together is how this game was always meant to be played.

after playing Shift 1 & 2, I find the others very lets say, immature..
racing cockpit in Shift on a big screen with 5.1 really raised the bar for what a racing game should look, feel and sound like for me.

I used to like AC, Prince of Persia was ok. Im one of the few that does not support greed. It's as simple as that.
Even if they have a few better then average games, im still going to ignore them until they put customer satisfaction above profit and shares.
There is a balance that can be achieved. Today to many companies go with activisions vision of 99% profit, 1% give a shit about anything else.

Ubisoft have become just as lazy and greedy as most of the rest, so i see this as no surprise.
I'd rather have 15 battlefield maps then another adhdfps aka call of duty.. the main story will be a fun 6 hours but that's about it for me.

Servers really aren't that much to run. These games make allot of money. More so then movies do in today's world.
All of this greed stems from profit and shareholders. This greed boat has no end and won't stop until people start using common sense. We are a long long long way from that. I'd say maybe another 500 years of being raped by corporations to the point that you pay for the air you breathe, only then will the dumb average consum...
How can you say it WON'T run UE4? It looks and sounds to me like Nintendo took note from gamers and devs and have been re-thinking the WiiU specs.
They also posted their first loss EVER, so im pretty sure they will go the extra mile to make sure this system will be able to compete with future systems.
