This site is misreporting. Their tweet, in which they supposedly say SMB will eventually come to PS3, actually says:
"special thanks to the fans who know us & tried to inform the misinformed :) THERE WILL NEVER BE A SMB2! WE WILL DEV FOR THE PS3 EVENTUALLY!"
He's not saying they'll bring SMB to PS3. He's saying they'll make a game for PS3, eventually.
