I agree, form the trailers I was excited. When I tried the game (rented) I was disappointed at how bland and boring it got.
I'm sure Radical was making this game before inFamous 2 was announced. It made a profit for Activision so it's likely that it was going to get a sequel. Plus I don't think Prototypes success depends on inFamous.

I don't see what the problem is. The game probably finished development a while ago and while it was being manufacted the made dlc. Did you expect them to sit on their asses amd do nothing.
Insomniac is entirely independent Sony doesn't own any of the their studios. Insomniac is a pretty big studio and they can handle a new IP if they wanted. Learn your facts.
