This isnt traditional, it adopts the ff 12 mmo single player style battle system. Rpgs from japan have been thriving this gen, over 200, its always been exciting and viable, we dont need this kind of sensationalism.

In terms of selling a system, the power of that system is irrelevant, in fact never in the history of this industry has a more powerful competitor outsold anything.
The 3ds is outselling the vita, the ds, the wii, the ps3 and the 360

THAT AMOUNT IS RIDICULOUSLY HIGH for not new games, but for special editions, the game is getting localized either way.........THATS A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR PEOPLE

are JUST as good
jrpg classics have been rose colored glasses to death.........suikoden II got slammed by critics back in the day.........

have there been hundreds of the same kind of good japanese rpgs this gen? yes
it was a non factor
usually it ends up not being good
3ds kickin it as usual...........

rpgs made in japan are just as much rpgs as rpgs made in the west.......lack of linearity is not a requirement, and really no rpg has any meaningful choices............
