It definatly ruined their reputation. The problem is not only millions of gamers going offline, but the reason they did it. They did this to protect Geohot, a hacker who wanted to introduce widespread cheating and pirating on the console. So basically they did this to support a cheater and a criminal. Anonymous : fail.

WTF is Sony doing? Seriously, it's like Kaz Hirai is paid by Microsoft.
I mean, I am not going to buy a 360, simply because I have no money for it. But if this outage continues for long, this will be a massive blow for the PS3 and I would not be surprised if the worldwide community is reduced a lot.
I understand them. I am one of the most hardcore PS3 fanboy you can think of, and I am starting to be really pissed off. I mean, I know hackers attacked Sony, but it's Sony who refuses to put back the servers online. WTF are they doing? This is just bad.
Sony absolutly needs to bring back online gameplay very soon. I am a fan of them, and it's for their own good. If they don't, then people will start leaving to the xbox side at an alarming rate. Isn't there a way to put PSN up but without the credit cards? At least people could play, even if they could not buy stuff.
I am a PS3 fan but this is starting to take way too long. Sony will lose a lot of PS3 players and I am not trolling while saying this. This has the potential to be a disaster. They need to bring the servers online asap!

It's funny how these nerd rejects promise big attacks against Sony and make tons of threats, but when it actually happens 2 weeks later, they deny involvment. LOL!
At least they are admitting their flaws. Then they will learn their lesson and improve their security. Props up to Sony for admitting their flaws, and working to improve themselves.
Of course I would care, I would sell my PS3 (but then it would worth nothing lol). By the way, this is not a possibility. If PSN never come back, Sony's entire gaming division would die. Sony would lose billions of dollars and probably go bankrupt. This is simply NOT an option. PSN will come back, Sony doesn't have a choice on this issue.
It's just a proof that Nintendo doesn't want to evolve, and want to continue to market their system to kids and casual gamers.
Sony did it and here are the reasons :
-To help them lose dozens of millions
-To be the targets of lawsuits
-To have customers jump ship to another brand
-To be critisized by governments
-To have their brand tarnished
-To have their stock lose value
This makes a lot of sense!

I think that Sony did a good job. All of this is not their fault, it's Anonymous' fault. So why hate Sony? They were the victims of a crime. They reacted pretty well in my opinion and soon the PSN will be back up like usual.

Elpresador doesn't really do it for entertainment. He is really a legit 360 fanboy right now. I mean, sure, his videos are made for entertainment but he is really a 360 fanboy too.

Anonymous makes big threats about hacking Sony, then two weeks later PSN gets infiltrated and it's not their fault? Yeah right. You are not fooling anyone Sony. We all know Anonymous is responsible for it. Stop defending them.
I am a big Sony supporter but Sony is being very stupid for saying Anonymous is not involved. They talk like they are scared of Anonymous. They claim that Anonymous is not responsible, without having any proof! Nobody knows who are the members of Anonymous. Any hacker can be part of Anonymous. Lame attempt by Sony to make Anonymous look like good guys. It's 99% sure that the hacker doing these attacks is an Anonymous supporter.
That reject is a huge douchebag anyway, whether he is still in Anonymous or not.
