Yeah there is not a lot of documentation as far as what to do with new items. I know they put a bit of it in the patch notes that is why I have been making sure so pass that info over to you guys as well. But I guess its more trial and error for the most part.
They have made it were you can continue to play on an older build if you don't want to loose your progress or want to go back to an older saved game for now. The down side is you don't get to play with the new features. I do agree it blows having to start over and over again. Since 8.2 I have not really focused on making a base anymore rather just playing hide and seek with the zombies and surviving on the move.
It has gotten a lot better I give them credit for sticking with their plan but also listening to the players.
I can't wait till they add more infected animals other than the dogs. Like bears man that is going to be so damn scary.
it really does I think they increased the size of the world as well or at least it feels like it now that you don't know where everything is.
I was the same way I loved this game almost as much too. Yes! The univited was stupendous! One of my all time favorite games. If they remake that I hope they give me the privilege to review that as well.

They made quite a few games like this in the early 90's so its possible that it was one of their games.
