You just settled for an overpriced CPU then.
Im going to go with a Core I7 920 with 6GB of fast ram , Corsair Obsidian 800D and 1000Watt PSU so that I can do either SLI or Crossfire. I will have the one GPU at first and buy a second just before the GPU I have dies out (Sales wise). I will be set for at least six years that way. I will also be looking for a motherboard with USB 3 and Sata 3.0. If by chance my motherboard , CPU and ram is still good in six years I will be able to expand to a SATA 3 SSD and USB 3 peripherals. The only thin...
I just hope more peoplo stop buying their games until the DRM dies. As I have said many time I am willing to buy Settlers 7 and maybe Assins Creed 2 if this DRM wasnt on the games.
For people like me who upgrade every 3 - 5 years it makes sense to buy the greatest so that if games start working the hardware hard then you are sorted for at least 5 - 6 years. My next upgrade will have to last me at least 6 years so I am going to buy good (but not the best) parts.
A person could put better parts into a rig they build themselves than a rig prebuilt at 600 euro. You are paying for labour etc for a prebuilt PC and the parts arent near as good as a PC you build yourself at the same price.
My first few computers I bought (starting 8 years ago) were all pre built Intel machines. 5 Years ago I started building computers in a computer shop and got discounts on parts so I built my very own gaming rig 5 years ago (My father owns that now and it stil...
I have absolutely no interest in MGS4, DMC4, Resident Evil 5, KZ2, Ratchet and Clank, Tekken 6, GOW3, Final Fantasy 13. The only two reasons I bought a PS3 was for GT5 and the BlueRay player. Other than that any other game available to date and any game I know of thats coming to the PS3(other than GT5) is of no interest to me.
@Everyone else. I also bought an Xbox 360 for PGR3 , PGR4 , Forza 2 and Forza 3. Forza 3 is keeping me going console wise until GT5 arrives.
Thats because the console gamers that love to see the pc gaming is dying news are hiding behind their mothers skirts.
My Ps3 60GB Phat isnt bricked but the new update seems to have made my PS3 run hotter than normal.
I want to buy Settlers 7 but wont until this DRM is gone.
That old crack never worked but now theres a server emulator that allows you to play Assans Creeds II without having to use Ubisofts DRM. I have seen it on a few Torrent sites with a lot of people saying they can play the whole game and side missions and finish the game with the new crack. The new Server Emulator is on torrent sites with a few days now.
Stupid DRM that forces you to be online all the time.
It isnt an april fools day joke. This is real. Ive read this on a few different websites about two years ago and this does work.
Just use Peerguardian and VPN. Your a lot safer that way but you still wond be totally invincible.
Its not just australia is being affected. If you look in the official Settlers 7 forum you will see that almost all countries are affected. This DRM is a joke and should be removed. I am willing to buy Settlers 7 if they change the DRM to something better or if the make this DRM not need a full time internet connection. As long as they are using this DRM I refuse to buy any of their games.
I Most 24" monitors Ive seen lately are only 1920 x 1080. I had a monitor that done 1920 x 1200 but the difference is minimal. Also I still disagree about having more than one monitor is immersion. But its your money to waste.
I understand why you need two monitors. My brother needs two monitors for music Editing but for playing games anything more than a 24" monitor is overkill.
I have windows 7 installed since october without any problems so far. I wouldnt dream of going back to Windows XP now and I would rather set my computer on fire rather than go back to Vista.
Somebody on N4G must have a dislike for me because in the last week I am getting at least one disagree every time I comment lol.
If you want that much Immersion buy a big TV thats good with computer games. The price of three or six monitors would make up the price of a decent 32" or 40" TV. Having more than one big 24" monitor is overkill.
I agree with whats needed on that list but a few more I would add is:
1: Dual GPU with 1GB ram each (for better future proofing)
2: At least 512mb system ram
3: The CPU in the Xbox 360 is can stay. Theres no need for a more powerful CPU in a console.
