Didn't anyone notice that:
1 through 4 are next gen multiplats?
That means you have to throw Nintendo a bone.
But if you do that, you also have to give a shout out to iPhone users, because hey, they think they are gamers too!
Everyone knows Sony already got enough love, so you have to appease the DS Fans.
Microsoft might pull their marketing dollars, so you better throw another 360 game in there (oh, and make the biggest franchise so you don't really have to...
I downloaded this Tuesday night in Singapore and even got Uncharted 2, Motorstorm, and Killzone 2 costume packs. Of course, we didn't get Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, so Sony giveth and Sony taketh away...
I'll keep enjoying being alone on the on-line leaders boards until you poor saps can download your copy.
FYI, even as a download it takes a long time to load, so I can only imagine how long the UMD must take.
1. I never had a PSP in the first place
2. I decided I wanted to play on the bus on the way to work, and the Go fits into my suit pocket far better than the PSP.
3. I live in Singapore where PSP games are more expensive at retail anyway, so actually using the U.S. PSN site makes them cheaper to download than to buy at a shop.
4. I added a 4 GB M2 (I would have bought a larger one if they had it in stock)and can now happily swap among playing GOW:COO, Patapon, MH:FU, S...
"Considering 90% of gamers came back to the system even after being hit with the console killing ring of death – it’s apparent that the public supports the Xbox 360, and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future."
Heroin addicts keep coming back for more too! Just because people do stupid things, it's doesn't make the object of their addiction defensible....
Do they send you back a new Limited Edition? If so, doesn't that mean they actually made more than the Limited number advertised which means it isn't so special and probably doesn't need to cost $400?
BTW, what's so special about the case other than the fact it isn't white? Does it have more effective cooling vents?
It's so easy to pick on other people's addictions and ignore our own....
1. Those aren't the most expensive speaker cables - there's one pair that costs over $55,000. So for the mega rich that spend $150,000 on speakers, $30,000 on a CD player, $120,000 on a turntable, $40,000 on a preamp, and $200,000 on power amplifiers, this cables actually really cheap!
2. I don't think anyone uses this for home theater setups - most of them use it for stereo music systems.
Could it be that the new screen is actually an OLED screen? That could explain the faster response times and higher contrast ratio. It would also mean longer battery life.
Wait, so you mean now I can take a really small image on a better screen, and blow it up to look crappy on a really big screen? Is this the Wii emulation tribute? Who actually wants to do this?
But if you've been to SE Asia, you know that people will still buy them. Each movie requires about 3 discs and people happily swap them in and out because they are really cheap. My friends in Singapore make fun of Americans because they went to S-VHS when SE Asia went to VCD. I make fun of them because they are are still watching VCDs! My point is this - HD VMD is the VCD of this generation and although it will never be popular in the West, I'm sure they will sell a lot of them in the dev...
to gaming dorks' advice on women, sex, cars, etc. Face it fellow N4Gers, if you're on this site and posting you're a nerd. I include myself in this group - thankfully, I'm already married!
This article was not really about whether the consumers want to rent or buy, it's about the fact Microsoft doesn't want you to buy HD media. Therefore, they nominally support HD DVD as a hedge against Blu-ray and make a half-a@@ed marketing attempt to sell the HD DVD add-on.
Personally, I think their commitment to the add-on "solution" is best summed up by the fact the best sound you can get is DD and DTS, not the high def DD+ or DTS MA. Why would they want the co...
You mean like Cyberball 2072, Screwjumper!, or Yaris? Hey wait, those are games Microsoft shoves down Xbox consumers' throats!
Heaven forbid a gamer ever had to use his cognitive reasoning...it's far easier to just shoot at things!
Zhuk, you should really think about getting this, it may eventually make you interesting to adults, or at least we'll be able to understand the rubbish coming out of your mouth when you take our order at McDonald's.
Can someone please define the numerical equivalent of "distant"? Can someone please explain how you expect to get an objective article from the windowsitpro.com website? This is just lazy. How about I go to Sonylovers.com and post "Ps3 is the greatest thing since sliced bread!" as news. Maybe I can translate "greatest" into an indication of how well it it (or isn't) selling. C'mon people, find real news with real numbers if you are going to insist on taking F...
I have 400 (legal) DVDs and just upped my Blu-ray collection to 85. I have watched every movie at least three times and like having the option of loaning legal copies of films to friends. I like the extra features, I like not having to download films. I like how much better Blu-rays look on my 100" projection screen over upscaled DVDs (you are lying to yourself if you think upscaled images are as good as full 1080p).
Having so many Blu-rays has actually encouraged peo...
and 16 more are arriving next week. So if I spread it around, 19 of you can claim you have 4 or more Blurays! (By the way, I've never paid more than $27.95 for any of the ones I own, and that was only at the beginning of this year. I think the average price for all of my discs is around $21. Where are you guys getting robbed for $40?)
I don't think a poll on PS3Themes is an accurate indicator of the Bluray movie watching demographic, because the voters there are also probabl...
do they sound the same? I can assure you that uncompressed PCM definitely sounds better than DD+, but you'll need somewhere to put that uncompressed stream......
where the hard disk drive is on their $98 DVD player. They're probably also disappointed it doesn't come with an S-Video input to connect it to the 1980s, 25" CRT wooden console television from RCA. Oh well, if there are no watchable HD-DVDs, at least it's still cheaper than a lot of DVD players....
If I don't actually play FPS games, what are the best games to get on a 360 that aren't multiplatform? Viva Pinata?
The author of this article lives in a fantasy world where DVDs are still cutting edge and Microsoft doesn't make you pay extra for things the competion throws in already:
1. "you can easily bear in mind that the system plays DVDs too. Not that it’s easy to forget or anything like that,..."
Yes, it is. Who still watches DVDs? You either stream a film or watch it on Blu-Ray!
2. "but remember when the original Xbox premiered and the...
