Interesting that the article doesn't actually mention graphical differences, just that any differences would depend on hardware.

From what the article tells us, this could easily be talking about differences down to things like the PS4 trackpad, X1's impulse triggers and possible Oculus support on PC.

I'm not claiming this is the case, but that statement could just as easily imply that.

$1 Billion profit in a *single quarter* does not equate to 'failing at more than it's successful'

The other aspects of their business, especially the corporate retail are incredibly successful.

They're far from being in any kind of trouble.

And not to make this MS vs Playstation, but Sony have been making a loss the last 6 years, even there total profit figure last year of $435 million (there ...

For all the people mentioning MS paying royalties to Sony for Blu Ray, not only is that less than a cent spread across the 9 companies that developed Blu Ray per disc, but also I'd hedge a bet Sony will be paying more to Microsoft in licenses for use of their software in Sony's retail laptops and computers. Plus probably all their corporate licenses for windows, office and servers (I doubt Sony are using Macbooks)

Theres a reason MS make $6 Billion profit (consistentl...

Just so you know, that blu ray royalty isn't exactly a meal ticket for Sony.

There's a break down of the royalty rates, and that's not just what Sony gets. Sony is part of nine companies (plus MIT) who developed Blu Ray:

Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, Samsung and MIT.

Hey I love my playstation as much as the next man, but let us not forget all of the lies and shady money making schemes of their past.

-All first party PS3 titles had Online pass DRM
-Failed promise of PS3 to PSP remote play.
-Failed promise of PS3 to Vita remote play.
-Still missing the promised digital PSP games on Vita store.
-Still missing the promised PS1 games on Vita store.
-Released an expensive all digital game machine (the PSP...

@HowarthsNJ

Console debate aside, I think you need to have another look at your figures about The Microsoft Corporations financial status.

You do realise that windows isn't MS's only product, in fact it's not even their most profitable. If one product out of many other billion dollar products doesn't do so well that doesn't mean MS are in any kind of trouble what so ever. The opposite in fact:

1. You need to read the articles more thoroughly

2. Yes they can play it at the exact same time, with no limitations. Stop freaking out.

You realise it says in plain english that you, the owner of the game are never restricted from playing it?

So any of your 10 can access it one at a time, but you can access it whenever, even when they're playing it.

It actually gives you more flexibility than actually lending out the physical disc, as even when your friend is playing it, so can you.
