I agree that the Wii is selling lower than before, BUT it's still selling well ( and extremely well during holidays ) + they can still cut the price to 149 and then 99 and/or release new colors.
A Wii HD maybe, but not a Wii 2.
As for the real next gen ( Wii 2 / Xbox 3 / PS 4 ), I don't think we will see it until 2014 because all the three consoles are still selling very well ( in fact the 360 and ps3 never sold...
Shipped, sold ... it's virtually the same. If they continue shipping it it means that retailers are selling it.
It's just easier for them to track the number of units they shipped rather than sold I think.
As for the news itself : Impressive numbers, but I personally don't like motion gaming ( Kinect / Move / Wimmote ) and I hope it won't be the standard for the next generation. I just want controllers ! :D
