As usual, excellent writing from Lazygamer.
I see what they are trying to do, but at what cost? How many fans will they alienate with this?
GT5 only comes out it in 2 months, so I wouldn't view that as direct competition. Also, they target different markets, to an extent.
That image is *amazing*.
I'm stoked that the first F1 game in how many years is a good one!
This so really awesome stuff.
I don't see how its misleading? GoG is, at this moment in time, dead. It has been shut down and will remain that way for at least a few days it seems.
@Solar: Also, checked the Shacknews article, it has less info than this one. So, you're trolling.
@LazySAGamer: Haha, didn't consider that.
Good, well researched article. Hopefully results of Wednesday's EGM will shed some light on the fate of GoG, or whether or not the financial shenanigans of the holding company has anything to do with GoG going down in the first place.
I reckon it could actually be improved upon with the new tech and whatnot available now, since it did have some problems, from what I understand.
I guess we'll find out in November.
Since I missed the original, I'm keen to see how such an important 'retro' games translate in the current gen.
I'm keeping my eye on it.
It will be a day one purchase for me too, and I don't really enjoy competitive gaming, so that side of SC doens't interest me that much.
However, I saw the split in CS (i am on CS 1.6 fence) and that might happen to SC.
Dude, your formatting is astonishingly poor.
Although your argument does make some sense, saying a NINTENDO game is comparable to a SONY game is preposterous.
Diago is a God.
@TrenchaunT Agreed, however StarCraft one was a self contained product. You had all three sides of a complete story and didn't need Brood War to complete that story. Brood Wars was simply EXPANDING the universe.
StarCraft 2 isn't a self-contained product. If you, like many people, want to complete the story (as Blizzard has become masters of gaming narrative) then you will NEED to buy all three games.
@The Ineffable Bob: The pricing hasn't been released yet, but a $6...
The match is a solid 22 mins long, so it should be very interesting.
I really enjoyed the previous one. Browders commentary was very inspired :D
Rare have definitely changed for the worse after the MS purchase. I have no idea why though, given MS has more money and more resources than Nintendo did in the N64/GC eras.
I really enjoyed Conkers Bad Fur Day. That was the last Rare game I liked.
Also, Activision is rolling in money at the moment, so they cant cite 'financial constraints'. They (technically)own WoW, for Gods sake.
Has everyone forgotten how glitchy Morrowind was? That games was the pits (no pun intended).
Bethesda have NO idea how to code a game properly. They make very good games, but poorly made ones.
Linux server > MS server
MS gaming > Linux gaming
Its all about finding a balance
Hadlee's thought of "would it dilute the franchise" is interesting, since there is a real possibility of that.
If they can make an effective control system that isn't dumbed down, I say go for it.
