Gaming can do all of those things if the industry and gamers would let it go. Some people like Hot Tub Time Machine, some people like Requiem for a Dream. Both are entertaining, just in different ways for different folks.

I kind of worried about the same things the author talked about. It's been so long, there's no way it can live up to the legend that this game has created. It's probably going to be an unfortunate disappointment. The lack of a full arsenal is proof enough of that. They need to put in a weapon wheel or something similar, or it's a no-go for me.
