The majority of complaints I've seen aren't about this at all.
The thing that pleases me is Geoff Keighley patting himself on the back so hard, he almost broke his own spine.
Man I swear if companies would just think back to the PS2, GC, and OG Xbox... 199.99 was the sweet spot. I know the tech costs. But at 199.99 they couldn't keep these things in stock. They need to push a sale like that outside of pretty much one day a year. maybe for a week or so in the March downtime. They'd blow through backstock, and ones on the shelves.
Nintendo had these games lined up because they were Wii U games, and they didn't want to send them out to die. BOTW was a Wii U game, and Mario Odyssey started as a Wii U game. Nintendo has done a great job staggering releases, and porting those games fast.
Been playing video games a long time, this game gave me the same feeling Ocarina did in 98... It's incredible. Glad I got to play it. And that is no way a knock at Horizon, because that game is a system seller too.
I see people taking shots at BOTW, and while Horizon is great. I mean it is, in fact it is shockingly great. Zelda is a gem for Nintendo. I am shocked how good Zelda actually is. It scratches this nostalgic itch, and is a joy to play. Both games are GOTY contenders. We should be happy we got two games of this caliber and we aren't NO WHERE NEAR the holiday season yet.
This.... So this.
No... Just no.... I see your point. However how many Wii U's got traded in for a Switch, for that matter how many Wii U's after the last delay were traded in for a PS4? By this logic ever person with a Wii U bought Zelda, and everyone that grabbed a Switch bought Zelda. There were 100 million Wii's and only 7 million copies of Zelda TP were sold. Zelda sells but it is nothing to 3D Mario, Mario Kart, or Smash Bros. The gap between user bases here is astounding. The impressive thing...
I absolutely love this machine. I wish it was selling better so we could see Golden Abyss 2, Tearaway 2, a new handheld God of War, and so on. I play a lot of PSP classics, and JRPG's on this puppy, and rarely put it down. Dangan Ronpa Trigger Happy Havoc is incredible, one of my pleasant surprises in gaming. Didn't know anything really about it except it reviewed well and bought it on a whim.
One of the best experiences I've had gaming.
1. The machine lacks media play capabilities, and doesn't blow away the last gen consoles in terms of performance, and is nowhere near what the current gen consoles can do, yet is only 100 dollars cheaper. I am sure someone is going to spout off I buy video game machines to play games. So do I, but for someone hooking this thing up in the living room, to have the ability to play media files, or DVD, and Blu-ray is important. It's over priced. It's not a good value.
I remember good old Tim here arguing about Half Life not being on the Epic Game Store in one of his little twitter rants. The dude doesn't know the difference between 1st and 3rd party games. I want to hear from Hidetaka Miyazaki.
