blu ray is really starting to gain momentum with both the consumers and the corporations, so, it might seem like a natural move for them to just make one kind of disc. i wonder how the success of blu ray over hd-dvd (hypothetically) will effect the current console war...
I think its becoming increasingly obvious which format is going to win. ive always been behind sony's formats and Im glad to see them come out on top for once. itll be intersting to see how this all plays out. btw, you can call me crazy, but i still think UMD is one of the best portable media formats ever... but thats just IMO...

i think you just hit the nail on the head. if someone can afford a 1.5 - 2k TV, then they can afford a measly 400 dollar player. god people never learn. price is not everything when it comes to movie players. dont let the media fool you, bluray is winning this format war.

devs should optimize for ps3 first and then port to 360, because its easier to cut down codes and compress than to do the oposite. if 360 games came on hd-dvd, then the ports would be even. ps3 is a beast, and it takes real talent to make it sing. and this article is gonna turn into a fanboy war real quick. just wait.

Afaik the average speed on SL DVD´s is more or less the same as Blu-Ray. On dual layer DVD´s Blu-Ray has a slight advantage.

best ratchet yet. love the story so far (about 4 hours in). weapon upgrading is more addicting than ever and the whole experience just screams polish and perfection. seriously a true next gen experience.

...if done correctly will always be better than a console version because of the controls. Now having the money to invest in a high end machine to display the graphics to match the PS3 and 360 is a whole other story. Does anyone know if the game supports blue-tooth keyboards and mice on the consoles? If that is the case, i would suggest getting it on the consoles over t he PC version if not just for the lack of having to worry about system specs.
That brings me to another poin...
first, @aaquib5, this doesnt need to turn into a flame war/whine session.
second, it will be interesting to see if this is a trend or a fluke. i personally think that FPS's are superior on the PC if not just for the reason that the Mouse and keyboard setup is alot more accurate and intuitive than a gamepad.
third, it will also be interesting to see how the PS3 version stands up to the PC version and 360 version as well...
Icewake is a bigger tool than this reviewer. no ratchet and clank game has ever been average. period. this one is no exception. who cares what two tools think (icewave, gamespot)... bubbles please?

...i applaud Insomniac on a job well done. they have elevated themselves to be one of the best, possibly THE best, developer of this generation. Mario and master chief have met their match. i always personally considered ratchet and clank to be the mascot of the PlayStation brand, and being about 3 hours into their latest adventure, now there is no doubt! thanks a bunch, insomniac!
