Please bear in mind that, on our site, a 5 is actually 'Average' - since most sites use 7 as 'Average' I think that's an important point to make clear. And 'Average' is not, actually, a bad score.
The press release says it'll be a fully-reworked HD port. Hopefully that'll even extend to revamped sprites as well.
To be honest, I don't care. I love GH in any form, and even if the XBLA port looks the same, plays the same, and even has the same crippling slowdown when there's too much on the screen, it'll still the the Best Downloadable Game Ever in my book.
If you actually read the review, you'd see that my criticism wasn't aimed at the story itself, but the way that the story mode itself is structured- you don't have any choices of vehicles, you can't upgrade your vehicles, or do any of the things that make the free play and multiplayer so enjoyable. It was Evolution's idea to put the story mode in there, and it wasn't very good.
And besides, on our review scale, 7/10 is Good. Not Average, like on many ...
Hehehehehe.
@ dkgshiz - actually, we rated Killzone 3 higher than Black Ops, which we gave a 7.
It *is* a well-written review. I don't completely agree with it - I found I really liked the characters, and I'm already playing through the campaign again in the score-attack 'Echoes' mode - but each to their own, after all.
I actually rather like it.
We can but hope, the first got a bit of a pounding in some of the more mainstream press but I absolutely love it.
In fairness, its sort of our policy to defend our scores. Like you said, it *is* just an opinion. But its a valid opinion, formed from facts that TyranT used to back up the final score in his review.
I note that most of the critical comments on here don't actually have any constructive criticism of the review itself, they just disagree with the score.
'Lame' is hardly a valid critique. If you don't agree with the review, play the game for yourself and tell us why. Don't troll just because you don't agree with what our reviewer thought.
Shes pretty damn good, actually. Takes a bit of effort to get to learn, but its worth it.
Thanks for the comment, and well spotted- this has now been amended in the review. Thanks!
Its an opinion. Thats all that matters. Like OpiZa said, if you think its a 10, its a 10. Isn't that enough?
I know GOW3 won't be a 10 from me because it just doesn't win me over. Nothing specific I can pick out with it, I just don't get the praise the series has had heaped upon it. But thats MY opinion. It shouldn't effect anyone else's opinion of the game, and if you have a problem with my opinion, I can back it up. Thats all that matters. There's no such thing as factual, ob...
Why is this news article on N4G?
I don't really get the gaming relation here...
"There has been emerged a new video"? Say whut?
Wow, what a pointless article. You just ream off a load of assumptions, forget to use proper grammar and punctuation, and round up with a lame "it could be a false alarm."
Considering 1 vs 100 actually shows the number of users playing at a given time, maybe checking that would be a better way of judging its popularity, rather than how many of your friends are playing it. Empirical evidence is always a lot more compelling than half-assed assumptions, which the article...
I think you mean "complainTs", not "complains"....
Agree with all the comments here about HS and Saints Row 2 - Heavenly Sword is still the highlight of its genre, and the story is so compelling and moving that I really enjoy playing it again, despite its short length.
As for Saints Row 2, its one of the most entertaining games I've played this gen. For pure, daft, fun, you can't get much better.
Why not try reading the article and then making up your mind, especially considering the title is a statement, not a question, as you seem to think. "This guys" might be able to spell and use grammar perfectly well.
Or they could give you a moment to review the controls again before throwing you into battle. Crazy idea, I know, but most every other game seems to manage it... but I admit that the only reason I struggled was because it had been so long since I played the first game.
