FPS have variety.. the narratives give them just that. maybe in terms of ludology its all the same..
i love killzone, but i dont think it will be. It definetly has the tools for it. I see Gran Turismo as the baby for SONY.. and i think it will be forever, the same way Halo is for Microsoft.
Its a flagship title , no doubt, but i think the uncharted, and MGS of the world are on the top.
i remember spec ops on the ps1, and it was memorable for me because it was coop. :)

exactly, the enemies know where you are at all times, designed by the code. If the enemies had more of a search and destroy AI, it would make it more "horrorish".
driver and test drive coming at the same time? i didnt know that. i would think one of them would be pushed back, no?
the way i see it. Amnesia was a hide and seek game. where you hide and the ghosts "demonic figures" look for you. The storytelling was great imo, i found interest in looking for all the notes. I remember getting lost looking for some chemcials.
haha. but even amnesia Dark Desscent wasnt all that scary. But it def falls under horror.
i think its shortcomings where the fact that some places where just filled with noises and no enemies nearby. the level that comes to mind is when you go into the mansion, and all u hear is noise, but in all the rooms you find nothing.
Dead Space 2 is not horror, for the simple fact that you are walking tank, as you said.
GT5 was not failure.. in fact most biased and clearly fanboy "Journalists" are knocking off points for it taking so long to come out. Especially after so many "delays", when there really only was ONE real delay. Everything else was speculation by these same journalists.
GT5 delivered on what it promised, and was rated justly (hype). In fact the 6million plus sales prove that it is and should be a 90+ (A) game.
IMO half life 2 was nothing spectacular.. i just dont see the hype everyone else did. However, def the best shooter before COD4.
I think any great quality FPS after COD4 has a shot at being the best FPS.. COD / Halo have dropped the ball significantly in quality FPS.. and other IP's are bringing their A games.. Killzone 3, and Resistance's 3 vast improvement over R2 come to mind.
video gaming can be an addiction.. i finally broke out of it once i came to university. It's a bad habbit; i know first hand.

30 levels is kinda too low for my taste. I've been hearing it only takes about a day of gaming to get there. :/, maybe i'll wait for a level up patch/DLC.
you can do whatever you want with your console; however, its illegal to pirate.. but no one really cares about it, unless the publisher brings it into question.
hacking is ok as long as its for educational purposes. Maybe Hotz didnt do it for such, but he is presented as such, and the court will judge it as such and its completely legal.
