MW3 will outsell BF3 on consoles, and overall. I think it'll outsell it by at least 10 million copies combined between the PS3 and 360, if two weeks after launch Black Ops had sold 7 million on PS3 and an additional 7 million 360. I think it'll sell at least 4 million copies on consoles, 2 million per, and it will return some form of profit with the bad reviews on consoles.
Remembering Brink and Crysis 2, we all know how good games on PC can be terrible on consoles, get absolu...
Never. But looking at the PS3 in 2006, if you remember, it was pretty top of the line hardware at the time, and Crysis was almost impossible to run on anything. Remember that? That's what they'll be doing with the PS4. Trying to make it close to top of the line without breaking the bank.
And I never said they'd try to compete with PC graphics, I was basically trying to say PS3's graphics are quite outdated. 5 year old gpu is now an economy card in my macbook air.
As much as I will love MW3, it certainly STILL doesn't beat Uncharted 2. I know that BF3 could potentially beat UC2, but not by a console comparison. If the trailer proves anything, the recording was done on a PC and BF3 will probably run utilizing very low quality textures on consoles, and very low quality shaders in order to let the game run. Much like Crysis 2, it's simply too good for consoles--and that's why it won't do well in the market no matter how much marketing it d...
It will be ready for release by December 2012, the fate of the world depends on it.
Plus, with all the laggy framerates and low quality textures on consoles, it's got to happen soon. All the evidence points to this, considering games such as Skyrim, RaGE, BF3, MW3, Res3 and UC3 will be coming out this September through November, leaving no room for a new console. Knowing they need to keep up with PC graphics though (considering it's 5 years old), and actually announcing it, it...
It's only demonized because they're not used to a war setting in London unless it's in a fictional WWII-related setting (like Resistance). Bullshit is what it is. You've got no problem playing MW2 and watching DC burn to the ground, but when it's your modern country, all the sudden all hell breaks loose.
What if someone was to say "MW3 is unconstitutional because it features fictional violence in New York, where the World Trade Center was in 9/11?" You...
CoD is going to become the GH of Activision. Hope you guys like recycled animations and scripted effects that change little by little!
Activision, I have found, is great at destroying beautiful things by forcing product over quality. It's going to be the same with this. Better than Black Ops now, but when the next game comes out, it will suck.
Does it really take an analyst to figure this out?
Should've partnered up with some dubbies like Zeds Dead, Flux Pavilion, Glitch Mob or Digiraatii. They're all pretty damn good at turning the Gameboy sounds we all knew and loved in our childhood into pure salacious filth for our listening pleasure.
All your base are belong to us?! D:
Bullshit. It was all Modern Warfare 2's fault. I swear.
Ugh, it'd be great if everyone would stop hating. The more you exclude an audience the more BF3 sounds worse. If it only runs that way on a select amount of top performance PCs, nobody will be able to enjoy it the way you will, which will again, make it look terrible. The reason COD is excellent is because it utilizes mechanics that DICE sees as stupid, when they regularly increase performance. You don't need entire open environments in levels, much like Uncharted--smoke and mirrors a...
Internet speeds aren't fast enough for disc-less gaming yet. Until the average connection can download 1GB of data in one single minute, or we can stream gaming from servers without lag--we're simply not ready.
I would have referred to performance on consoles. You know BF3 will certainly perform on par to Crysis 2 and Brink. The game is simply too good for this generation of consoles--and for that, much like Crysis 1 it will fail to meet expectations of playability. Deal with the sad truth, and disagree please--because you know I'm absolutely, positively right.
That's the beauty of CoD. You don't need a high performance card to make it look awesome--it may be all smoke and mirrors, but it certainly runs better than most any new FPS on the market, and looks more realistic because of that framerate.
Now, don't get me wrong, CoD has a lot of problems. But it follows a formula that simply works for this generation--pushing a game to make sure it does nothing to disturb the constant 60FPS.
Because of this, a game like...
I don't think they're hitting what they need. People don't want linear based story in an open world environment. People want to make their own choices in their games--do what they want whenever they want--consequences included. Follow their own path--"live" in a game. GTA was close, but it never really let you "choose." And LA Noire is a step in the wrong direction because of this. If they had allowed you to become a criminal, and have multiple plot trees and s...
This is not a loss of cost, it's a non-existent sale. If it cost money, they wouldn't have taken it down and taken so long to get it back up.
Hasn't it already?
Still, I don't think it's going to bulldoze Skyrim or MW3. Or BF3. Because it's not a game that's going to keep you playing longer than the career and side-missions. It may be revisited over time, but it's not inducing the replay value either BF3 or MW3 will offer--or the replay value of Skyrim, for that matter. Looking back at TESIV, I've put 86 hours into my first playthrough, a year later another 50, and in preparation for Skyrim I've racked up about 60 hours on...
This is really the best setup this guy's ever seen? Wow, someone can put wires on a wall in a slightly geometric fashion. Jeez, he should check out some of the in-home theaters people have set up. They're so sick they'll make you jizz your pants by comparison.
I disagree with you completely. I own a Macbook Air and a Gaming PC. Games by Valve will definitely run on my MBA around 60FPS since they're coded so well to run on anything, but low quality PCs don't hold back anything in terms of graphics. In order to get Black Ops to run on my MBA, I literally have to go through hoops and bounds to get a constant 30FPS. Same thing goes for most anything utilizing a modified version of the Quake engine, like COD4. Meanwhile, Mass Effect 2 runs aroun...
