Because the "cool" thing to do online is say Nintendo is limiting stock when providing the same amount as competitors during launch.
They're a business people, they make money by selling consoles not by holding stock in the warehouse rubbing their hands together laughing.
That's because this system was made with Japan in mind.
Nintendo needs to get their marketing straight on this system. The Switch is a powerful handheld and an under powered home console. I'm buying it for the portability factor and Nintendo games, but I wouldn't make the Switch my one and only system. I have my PS4 and PC for 3rd party games.
People are hard to please now a days. True 4K is not a cheap resolution to game at. I figured if Scorpio is done right it would be 499.99 on launch day. If it's less than that Microsoft is either taking a big loss on each console, or concessions are being made with the hardware.
Are they really that hard to get? I was just at my local Wal-Mart and they had a self full of them (probably like 6 or so total.)
Edit: went back by Walmart to double check. They currently have 2 left represented by dummy boxes out front. So yeah my Walmart seems to have them in stock. Picture below was taken while I was there just now.

It was actually the more unique shooter released at that time. I would say it took more chances with its gameplay than both Call of Duty or Battlefield last year. Poor marketing is probably what hurt sales, people would come into my store and have no clue what it was most times.
Ah yes, arguing 8 bit vs 16 bit on the playground. Those were the days.
You're right, I think Titanfall 2 was the best shooter of the holiday season. Unfortunately sales speak louder to companies than review scores and it's no secret Titanfall 2 lagged behind the other big shooters in that category.
Those Screens look better than I was expecting. Still need to see it in motion to know for sure.
Systems sell out at launch almost every time. I remember back in the day the PS2 was going for near 800 dollars because it was no where to be found after launch. Xbox 360 was the same way, I had to wait on a list for 3 weeks post launch before I was able to get one.
We will need to wait to see how the launch month goes. Based on what Nintendo is promising for the first month (2 million units) it does not appear to be a shortage of units, but high demand.
Regardless, Wal-Mart should be policing these bogus listings. It still says Wal-Mart at the top of the site and it's very easy for the average consumer to mistake this as Wal-Mart scalping these systems.
Well then, that escalated quickly.
Wow 199? That seems really low with Nintendo's track record of making money on their systems at launch. I'm expecting a price of 250 dollars and hoping it doesn't creep up to 300.
I think the writer pressed 8 one too many times, should be 8 million units.
The amount of salt we've had to collect would amount to a truck load at this point, just announce the console already. With all these promises and "leaks" it's probably not going to live up to the hype at this point.
Not a big fan of buying digital unless the game is massively discounted I.E. Steam sales or if it's digital only and there is no physical copy to buy. I never understood what's so hard about changing discs that we are willing to buy something that has absolutely monetary value after it's finished. The real problem is so many people sell their consoles second hand and think the digital games somehow add value to the system even though it's linked to their online account and is ...
Sony Life makes them the most profit currently. So it's not just the Playstation brand that makes Sony profit.
