The dumbing down of video games continues onward.

Oh, and I love how most sycophants always 'explain' how the dumbing down, is not dumbing down. Strange.

PLease explain EXACTLY where his list is wrong douche boy?
Don't just leave a douchey reply with out explaining said doucheyness.

What a pile of garbage. In 20 years no one will give a flying f**k about Infamous, Sly Cooper,
or Killzone etc..

The quest compass has not been around a long time it started in Oblivion.
It's a way of holding your hand and baby walking you to the objective, unlike the old elder scrolls when you had to actually talk to someone and get your OWN IDEA where the objective was. You listened and read what the NPC's had to say, you got more immersed in the games story.

Quest compass is retarded and for retards.

It's the consolization of the Elder Scrolls. Back in Morrowind you could find left and right Pauldrons, in Oblivion you could not get left or right anything, and Pauldrons were done
Away with all together.

Mark, Recall, levitation all gone. oblivion also introduced another great dumbing down move,
Fast travel. One of the great things about Morrowind was exploring to get somewhere.
You would figure out which Silt Strider to take, then maybe this boa...

Wow all the kiddies on here that get so offended at the truth.
The 360 and the PS3 are still fun and pretty powerful consoles, but don't get all pissy when
a software house wants hardware progress. And Uncharted 3, Killzone 3 , GOW etc...
.....are you kidding me? They are NOT AMAZING graphics at all. They are very confined, on the rails and and not so fantastic looking. Get your heads from out your asses and realize, games could be so much better with more memory...

Aside from the textures, but is it just me, or does Crysis one look way better? Especially the water?

For this gen of consoles at least they don't need a new engine.

COD games use 60fps, and a quick more 'arcade' like type gameplay than say Battlefield games.
But the trade off is small maps, and more simple graphics and textures.

I personally prefer BFBC2, for the insane graphics, physics, sound, and sheer scope of the maps.
But having said that, the public vote with their dollar and COD franchise sells by the bucket load.

Aahh Karkand! Possibly the greatest multiplayer map ever, certainly in my top 3 (along with campgrounds)
I know it's only an artist mock up, but I hope they go for the brown 'sand stormy' look of the OG Karkand.

That is why I love BFBC2 so much. I mean it may not look on the surface the greatest graphics (though it does look amazing) but the destruction and physics in the frostbite engine just adds so much to it for me. It's the way forward.
I can't even touch COD or other FPS games now, where you could hide from an airstrike or a rocket in a wooden shed.

Wow! Looks great. The DX-11 implementations look sweet!!

I personally love elder scrolls games (though I'm pretty sure they will never top the great Morrowind) so I am very much looking forward to this.
Call me 'hardcore' or a moaner, but my only gripe is the fast travel BS back again. It cheapens the oblivion experience and it will cheapen this too. In Morrowind it was a rush to grind to new places or take a strider...But hey! Games get dumber as time goes on sadly, I'm just glad elder scrolls is still rocking.
DX11...

Looks very nice, I like the the colours, much more vivid colour palette, a definite move away from the 'grey' palette of the previous two releases.
Looks neat.

Well I don't know about the console versions, but I just finally downloaded and played the PC multiplayer demo, on so called
'hardcore' settings and this is definitely nowhere close to the original Crysis in graphics.
Nice lighting, pretty effects, and don't get me wrong looks sweet.
But for Crysis, the textures are crap, the water is horrible, and the game is kinda boring.
Hopefully the PC single player has many more graphics additions than t...

It should be renamed OnLAG because that is inescapable with cloud gaming. Gonna suck balls.

I never use anything but the original voices in fighters.

For so called 'hardcore' games PC rules imo. FPS, adventures etc..
For 'fun' games I take a console. But all in all, the irony is that the games that sell huge on consoles (COD, HALO etc) are just light years better on mouse and keys and a half decent PC. Better gfx, better control, better online...BETTER.

..and a ps3 is not at all. So it stands to reason it will be cheaper and easier to get results from a 360.
