I can see pressing an imaginary buzzer for a quiz game being fun, but that's about as far as my interest in "motion gaming" goes. I'll wait for holo-decks, thanks.
I don't imagine they'll be in direct competition. It sounds like it'll effectively be browser-based games with small downloads. IA will be its own little social gaming hub probably, although Braid would suggest that they might also sell standalone indie games.
For the b-tier games I agree with this. It's not often a "cult hit" has a sales resurgence under the current structure; for some reason The Witcher comes to mind.
I also think maybe PC players are more willing to play games that aren't the "latest thing"?
