It is a problem - but I would have solved it in the opposite direction. You see, there's been a classic RPG issue going back all the way to Original Dungeons & Dragons. As soon as you introduce incredibly valuable magic items to your game, allowing them to be damaged becomes an unreasonably harsh punishment to your players. Why fight for days through a mile deep tomb for a flaming sword, if it's just going to be shattered within a few fights?
When you target a universally despised foe, like the Church of Scientology, the Westboro Baptist Church, or even the RIAA, you do well. You gain popular support, no one of any consequence wants to side with your target, and most importantly they're too incompetent to respond.
And over the past months you've shown what happens when you target a legitimate adversary. Sony not only shut you down, they made your effort look absolutely flac...
It would be AWFUL if the community were to take matters into their own hands with this one - downvoting CL2011 and UP-voting games that are actually good. Just AWFUL.
The reason it has been allowed to exist thus far is that Microsoft has been able to keep us under the delusion that they can't do anything about it. Bull.
Anyone who's played on XBL or seen the above video can tell you how easy it is to locate open bigots. Microsoft doesn't ban them because they represent profit. Thus, Microsoft silently endorses their behavior. The token enforcement exists only so that they are not accused of be...
I honestly believe that FortressCraft is BAD for the games industry. Developer and gamer alike. Long story short, it kills Minecraft's unique business model - which could have gone on to work for future indie titles. It makes game designers less able to make innovative games. If you'd care to hear my reasoning, hit the jump: http://wannadev.blogspot.co...

5) Combat - Bayonetta's combat is WAY faster than ANY Final Fantasy game, way more streamlined. There aren't even menus!
4) No Towns - Bayonetta uses a sequence of levels, even forgoing the semblance of non-linear gameplay. You don't even have to do those annoying little side tracks for orbs. No backtracking ever!
3) No Waiting for the Story - Hell, Bayonetta's opening cut scene has Angel Killing! It gets going righ...
Microsoft is Responsible for XBox Live Bigotry. This may seem harsh, but it's true. After all, it is there service. When the service goes down or has some kind of bug, do we not hold them responsible for the service they provide? This open display of hate continues for one reason, because Microsoft allows it to.
Why? Because bigots have money too, and are equally willing to spend it. Sure, Microsoft has a reporting service, but it's not exactly user friendly. One has to navigate ...
Not a persistent world, not an MMO. Period. It's just a shooter with high capacity servers and long term stat tracking. If you played Planetside back in the day, MAG isn't disappointing - it's hilarious.
My problem with recent ones is that they eschew what made FF popular to begin with. The game was originally going to be Square's last foray, as we all know, but the open world it presented was a huge hit. Skip a bit forward to FF:X, and the overworld is gone. Yes, there is a map with dots you can fly to, but that's window dressing. The world of FF:X essentially consists of a linear path. I thought FF:XII was Square fixing their problems, but FF:XIII seems to b...
REALLY?! I was highly impressed. The game controls like Drake's Fortune, but when you press Y you switch to Rogue Squad. It seamlessly integrates the two control methods, as well as adding a vertical dimension (which we didn't get to play). If anything, I think the demo might not have showcased enough game-play. It was rather short. Still, more exited after the demo than before.
Still, single player campaign and no multiplayer = rent it.

So far, it looks like people are willing to put up with it for a good game. Of course, the sample size is woefully inadequate.

Anyone who opposes her will be destroyed.
We can stop this.

Bayonetta. No, really, think about it.

Eh, gamer's a gamer. I appreciate it at least. I was surprised their wasn't a story on the Dragon Age pen & paper game.
So, it's like a more time consuming and decorated version of XBLA?
It's broke, fix it.
