Because it isn't about console sales, that isn't how business works. The PS3 lost a ton of money and market share, it was a lose lose. I'm not sure, but I think the 360 also bled money, but MS gained a large market share with the 360. Regardless of how many systems were sold or what the 'true gamerz' think is a better console, the ps3 was a failure. End of.
That would be why it has been submitted to this site. Just the thing these guys love.
Sony lost a ton of market share to the Xbox last gen. The ps2 dominated the Xbox, but the 360 gained MS an equal market share. How did Sony come out on top exactly? PS3 dealt them nothing but damage.
The funny thing is that in this case, "mirror the competition" actually means "stick to convention". That is all Sony has done. That's easy. Microsoft's real competition is convincing a self-entitled, brainwashed ignorant demographic that change can be good. The policy reversal was due to pressure from company execs, which was due to poor response from the customers, which was due to a widespread failure to comprehend innovation, which was heavily due to a crummy a...
MS have strived for the future, Sony have strived to the pockets of mindless Sony Soldiers. If you're going for a PS4, save your money and stick to a PS3...They're the same thing. Plus then you'll be able to carry on gloating about free multiplayer.
The PS4 is essentially a recycled gen. I'm interested in innovation, not just better specs. X1 has it right this gen.
@HammandTheBeast I'll remember that when I'm playing titanfall.
1080p 60fps would be nice, but a game doesn't have to look gorgeous to be a great experience. If it runs smoother at 720p, or 30fps, then I'd rather buy that.
