@beardpapa: "I mean, is there a game out there for the 360 without guns on its cover or tv advertisment that sold Gears 2 / Halo 3 / ODST release week numbers? "

to be fair though, there isnt a single game out there for the PS3 with ANY cover or tv advertisements that sold Gears 2 / Halo 3 / ODST release week numbers. that kinda renders your point moot. Gears 2 and Halo sell gangbusters, better than any other franchise on consoles, because theyre great and widely kn...

no, people are disagreeing because they dont want to read a bad word said about sony.

it doesnt matter if you have a PS3, dont have a PS3, or have seven PS3s - $25 for a standard definition of a movie is FAR too much, especially when you can buy the same movie on a DVD in australa for $15 or less.

"not sure what you mean when you say "blurs entire screen" because it looks really sharp

its not KZ2 sharp of course and im sure the 360 version is also not as sharp as KZ2"

firstly, you obviously have poor eyesight if you cant see that the entire image is blurred on the PS3. id get that checked out if i was you :).

secondly, both RDR and Killzone 2 use the AWFUL Quincunx Anti-Aliasing method. do you know what that is or w...

can you please explain to me how a basic 2D camera is able to do 3D tracking?

please, im all ears. the ONLY reason natal can do 3D tracking is because of the infra-red emitter and camera that measures depth. the PSEye doesnt have this. that is the ONLY way for a camera to measure depth currently.

again, the PSEye DOES NOT HAVE THIS. you can argue all you want, and find examples of things that FAKE 3D detection (like EyePet) and Move, but it doesnt change the ...

that is not 3D detection.

youre tricked into thinking its 3D because youre thinking of the floor on the picture as being 3D. the eyepet simple chases your movement on a 2D plane - horizontally and vertically. i know, ive got the game lol.

if you have ANYTHING moving above about 3/4 of the way up the screen, it thinks that you are dangling something in the air and jumps up for it. if you move anything below that line, it acts as if it is something moving on th...

"If you've seen more recent tech demos, you'd know that it can then assume a human torso and arms based on where two spheres move after starting in a predetermined state and with facial recognition."

but once its determined where the torso and arms are, it has no way of tracking them. again, it can only guess where they are based on where your hands are. in other words, if you hold your arms completely still but are ducking up and down with your whole body, ...

youre getting your 'facts' wrong to begin with.

Microsoft PUT ASIDE $1b to cover ALL EXISTING AND FUTURE warranty repairs. they may have only used $200m of that $1b.

and dont forget that sony have had millions of YLOD failures as well, with many people on their 5th/6th/7th replacement consoles.

lol

as has been said, yes, shops can track how many PS3s/360s they sell VERY EASILY. that would be great IF sony were the ONLY ones that sold PS3s to consumers, and they did it directly.

thats not what happens though. sony sell the consoles to stores, stores sell them to customers.

lets look at an example.

- store A orders 1000 PS3s.
- sony ships them 1000 PS3s: store sales - 0, sony sales - 1000.
- store A se...

its funny because the actual screenshots that 2 people posted are 100% in-game captured from a regular persons PS3. the IGN ones are "screenshots" sent to press publications by Naughty Dog, a company that is wholly owned by Sony.

how exactly are the shots that werent released by Sony NOT what uncharted 2 looks like? you cant doctor a screenshot to add more jaggies in. you cant doctor the screenshots to remove texture detail without making it stand out like a sore t...

so you ........cant......explain the absence of aliasing in the "in-game" screenshots?

im pretty sure a 40" Bravia V Series is a quality tv, and ive completed Uncharted 2 on it. it looks good, but nowhere near as good as those bullshots.

are you HONESTLY saying that this:

http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3...

sony do not know how many consolse are in consumers hands, so all they report on is consoles shipped to stores. exactly the same as what nintendo and microsoft report.

no, the reason people in Australia (me being one of them)/New Zealand cant play is because we DONT HAVE a region filter. Epic specifically said that Australia/NZ do not get a region filter turned on for their region because, and i quote, "not enough people from those countries play the game".

did they ever stop to wonder WHY people in those countries arent playing the game? because we could NEVER get matched with other people from our country! i would play gears 2 p...

firstly, anyone saying that Uncharted 2 looks BETTER on a 1080p HDTV is 100% wrong. it will look best on a 720p native tv, and worse on a 1080p tv as the games native resolution is 720p, not 1080p.

secondly, those screenshots IHYFB posted from IGN are bullshots. no, the actual game does NOT look that good. those screens are rendered 'in-game' at a resolution of like 8 times that of the actual gameplay and with added post procesing effects (especially anti-aliasing), t...
