You can't even twitch on a controller. Turn up the sensitivity on the joystick (if it's available) and make your character do a 360 degree turn instantly. You can't.
Over time, games have had to be designed in a way that compensated for this. That's why most modern third-person shooters chest-high walls and cover mechanics, so you can take your time aiming.
Exactly, which is why you're wrong. The most realistic way to walk is to walk, because that's how you actually walk in real life.
>the technology won't be good enough until the user can forget they're playing a game because it's that realistic.
If you can be immersed in a game while using a stick on a piece of plastic, then walking to walk is going to feel far more natural and realistic.
A single gpu that came out in 2013 is running loops around the PS4. The PS4 version isn't only 30fps at 1080p. Sony should join Nintendo and start working on a new console ASAP.
4K runs at about half the performance of 1080p for PC games. If developers aim for 1080p/60, 2160p/30 is plausible.
Relaxing, sure, a controller wins; but how is moving a thumbstick to make your character walk more realistic than actually walking?

Of course people care. "Resolutiongate" ring a bell? And that was just over 900p being upscaled to 1080p. Try stretching an image that's only a quarter of the screen's resolution. It ain't pretty.
All these 60fps games just mean the consoles will hit their fidelity ceiling sooner. Imagine how crappy GTAV would look if they opted for 60fps.
It also means it'll take weaker PC specs to run. With 4K monitors already under $1,000, both the XBO and PS4 will be upscaling.

> But really it is just a PC with a bad operating system that cannot play DX games.
If you think that's bad, check out the PS4. It's not compatible with previous Playstation games AND it doesn't support x86 games.
According to Metaritic, PS4 has 16 games with a score 75 or higher. Steam has 97 games with a score of 75 or higher.
PS4 is another closed-source, proprietary software-only, locked-down system. Your next favorite mul...
Steamboxes are just Linux PCs that boot into Steam's Big Picture mode. Yes, you can use a kb&m in the official SteamOS. Even if it didn't, you can use a third-party variant like "Ye Olde SteamOSe," or any standard Linux distro and install Steam.
I like how fans segregate Steambox into the "console" camp, as if it isn't entirely a PC.
First, you can install SteamOS on any x86-64 compliant system. You may very well be able to install SteamOS on PS3 with older firmware. Boom: a Your PS3 is a Steambox.
Second, you can install any OS on a Steambox. Steambox requires x86-64 compliance. You can install Windows, MacOS, a modified SteamOS, Linux and even AndroidOS.
Third, any St...

Your post doesn't prove or disprove anything, and will be permanently and publicly available for all to see how useless you are to this conversation. It might as well be your epitaph: Here lies Ripsta7th, he can't tell the difference between anecdotal and empirical data.
If you guys think that's bad, think about how much the PS3 version launched for $60. And how much was the 360 version? $60! They're *forcing* me to pay $60, and it doesn't even have added features of the PS4/XBO versions!
Not at all. Gabenbrah would be playing at 1440p because that's his native resolution. To not would be the equivalent of XBO's upscaling.
Another Sony propaganda article! Whilst writing this post, I had the FFXIV benchmark running in the background. Here are the results.

COD isn't graphically intensive by design. Visuals were compromised to keep the framerate high. What's wrong with raising the standard? There's a GPU that costs about the same as the XBO that can run the new Thief at 4K, and these "next-gen" consoles can't even push 1080p/60 on a last-gen game. Lol.
