This is not from Rockstar. The list is just from people saying what they tried on the internet. This is a fake article. I can see a customer service person saying this, but not a tech / programmer.

I exchanged my game, no change, still freezes.
I have tried the following:
-Re-installed game 3 times after deleting everything each time.
-switched from HDMI video to component, then to composite
-switched audio from optical to HDMI then composite and component
-unhooked ethernet cable
-turned off all PS2 upscaling and other options
-Disabled internet connection in XMB
-I exchanged my game disc for a new one
-I switch r...
mine froze during the first intro movie every time... so I took it back and exchanged the game with a new disc... SAME PROBLEM.
Do not waste your time exchanging the disc.. it is not the disc, it is the PS3.
I have a 60GB launch unit. I can get it to the second cut scene.. but no furthur than that.
THIS is why games should have BETAS!!!

I have the BETA and have been playing it since I got it (about 2 hours a night). I have a 40" LCD TV with 1000Watt sound system. The game is awesome.
The sound need to be better, but it will be on the final version.

There actually is a class action suit launched against the 360 failure rate.
That is why they don't comment on the failure rate. (that and it is so high it is laughable).

Why not distribute on usb flash drives? By then they will be cheap to make. It would be ironic.... like going back to cartridges.
