If you try to just "deliver mail" in this game, you won't get very far... The BTs will get you first.
Also as a side note, Death Stranding sold enough copies but people forget that Death Stranding sold lots and lots of merchendise too.

Really it's their loss, I've purchased every GT game except for 7 because always-online for single-player is unacceptable.
That won't happen if enough players support traditional offline friendly games.

All GaaS games have limited and short lifespans compared to traditional videogames, that's the main problem with greedy corporatism infecting traditional videogames.
Gran Turismo would be technically flawless if it weren't for that Microsoft XBS style online-only exploitative monetization tactic. Forza isn't even a sim, it's an arcade racer with inaccurate physics AFAIK.
