I dont really consider current gen. FPS as the most influential. Unless of course you want to include COD4, as now there seems to be a crap load of modern warfare games. I kinda loved COD 4 as I thought it was kinda like CS for consoles.

My favorite games this year were mass effect 2, God of War 3, Alan wake, and red dead redemption.
