You pay for the service not the game, paying for the service doesn't make the game any less free. If you don't like how its done you always have the option of spending the $1,500 plus a year to play these games.
Worth means different things to different people but the real value was in the opportunity it gave Playstation gamers to play something they might not have ordinarily tried without it being offered through PS Plus which is its real value.
