from my experience in gaming i have never played a better game than MG on the msx system simply because of the twist that had on the end of the game at that time it was revolutionary.
but for MGS which it is the second in the series actually it was remade on the play station and the remade was metal gear solid. it was not a perfect remake but still quite similar if you do not believe me go and play it until you reach to the mines in the desert and there will be a contact from deep throa...

no one wants to have a new IP by Kojima ? are you only looking for metal gear? come on Kojima has the skills to do more than one IP (notice that i did not count snachters or even Zone of enders due to one reason: they did not receive the same amount of success that MG received).
so in sum give the man a chance to express his skills and let him do a new thing other than metal gear because i think he does not know if he could do another thing that receive the same attention as MG.
since i saw the posting thats a great move from Kojima. because we need a new killer application from Kojima and it is not metal gear.

it is to early to make assumptions about the soundtrack but i am sure it will be epic but the question is can it surpass SOTC soundtrack ? in my opinion it is close to impossible but i pry god to prove me wrong.
i agree with most of the analysis specially the story analysis.
but he forgot to mention the beast is shown attacked by the guards. and clearly we will see the beast wounded by guardian arrows.
i think and i hope that escaping from the castle is a part of the story.
