if you get a PS3 for $400 and still want back compat they figure you can go buy a PS2 for about a $100.It would be different if the PS2 were discontinued. It is still alive and well and Sony is just making smart decisions.

MS has NEVER made one penny of either xbox, they are already like 13 billion in the hole and the years of unprecendented sales growth it would take to erase that deficit and return a profit would happen by the time the 1440 is out. In other words it's NEVER gonna happen.

there is practically one or two games coming out every week to say the least and in some spots you have as many as 4 or 5 games dropping the same week. All of a sudden all these "PS3 has no games" crying mary's will start looking really stupid against the backdrop of a 40gb PS3 launching for the holiday season.

don't realize is that the launch costs for the PS3 was US $2 billion, so far Sony has made close to $4 billion selling the console at a high price point, they already made their launch money back and then some. Like a Japanese samurai Sony has slowly moved into position possessing far more power than his opponent realizes before he strikes a killing blow.
By this time next year it will be a TKO for the PS3 with the 360 laying beaten and bloody on the ropes.
