and your right it is a good reason to get a ps3, however there are many many more reasons to get one its just the best thing i have bought (electronics wise) in my life no joke, i bought a 42" plasma with motorised stand (which i love) but the ps3 trumps it hands down! and my telly was 900! lol... get one you wont be dissapointed.

you could look at it another way... like the disc based media (blu-ray) is that great it CAN offer other media right beside it and not have to worry! cos as other people have said its just not viable or even possible to get the same quality downloaded at the moment, besides even when it is available there still will be people that like and want physical products (im one of them), the other guy mentioned some of the reasons why, but just to add one say you had a big collection of films on a hd...
but just get prepared to lose a good few days if not weeks to this game! lol its that addictive!

dude i have my ps3 on nearly 24/7 even when im not playing games i just leave it on and it never signs me out... but then i have mine hardwired which i would suggest for anyone if its possible... i have used it wireless aswell for a short while and never had any problems signing in... so its not everyone is it? i have never even had any of my psn buddies tell me they are having the problem you describe... also i would like to agree with the other chap that every post i see of yours is moaning...

a 10 year lifecycle is when the particular console is still having games made for it for 10 years or over... it doesnt matter if the same company make another console within that 10 years... even if another console came out a year later and the original console still lasted 10 years, it still had a 10 year lifespan... so really your comment is incorrect... hasnt the ps2 nearly done 10 years already? so the 10 year lifecycle thing has already been done... i would rather a company still support...
