It was more about Nintendo not giving him the attention he deserves. Yes, Luigi's Mansion is a highly anticipated game, but if you had read the article you would see that they should have done more for this supposed "year of Luigi". That was the point of the article, not click bait.
It may be new to the system, but it is far from being new. It is a sequel just the same as the rest you listed with the only difference being it is on a new console. What Karmic Demon was trying to get at is that the franchise is getting stale from the repetitiveness of releasing the same games over and again. They haven't veered away from the original formula at all. They just change settings and add/remove power ups.
So you list a sequel in the reasons they aren't recycling and the reasons everyone else is is due to sequels. Something doesn't add up. Also none of your examples relate to the Mario franchises which is what the comment and the article were referring to.
On top of that, if we are talking Mario games, there is a lot of over lap there. Between re-releases and sequels they beat a dead horse over and over. There are some innovations to the series, Galaxy is a good example...
I would rather see them venture out with all new characters. They finished the plot lines, let them be. Come up with new people for us to care about, then abandon for multiplayer.
It is the name of the podcast.
Excellent list.
The same argument can be used about many games now that come with an online pass. They are used to prevent used game sales that don't give the developers and cut of the money. So how is that a strike against the game? The multiplayer is fun. That is primarily what the game was meant for, so it actually hit it's desired outcome. Would it have been better with a fuller and more defined single player? Sure. But the fact it has an online pas doesn't in any way hinder gameplay, just sa...
@nexgensensation Multiplayer is arguably what this is made for, so why would the game get such a low score when the multiplayer is fine. Granted the single player is pretty shallow and feels tacked on, that doesn't mean that the entire game is bad.
Infinite looks fantastic, but I am going to play the wait and see game with The last of us.
I agree. I was surprised how well Telltale pulled off such an amazing story. It is my personal game of the year.
bitter, bitter, bitter. BTW it
s a vita.
Thank you.
This is a podcast.
While Uncharted 2 is a great game, it doesn't have the same genre changing impact that the others have. It is merely just better than the previous game. Granted much better, still just an upgrade.
Not sure about competitive multiplayer, but the previous did have a horde mode style tournament that was pretty fun. Far Cry just didn't seem polished enough in my opinion from all I've seen of it.
Borderlands 2 is the next game I am eager for. the rest are just meh to me.
Everything I've seen about this game makes me want to play it. I think this will be the next download I pick up.
This is a rough topic to broach and I am surprised it hasn't been done before.
They probably should have come up with a better mechanic than fetch quests.
EA has come out and said they are refunding the digital copies through Origin. A couple say people were able to do it, but then EA made a blanket statement saying that they weren't going to do refunds.
