totally agree with you. Like I said in my previous post our windows machine is falling apart. That's sad because we carefully choosed it. There is too many manufactered junk devices that can get into a PC and MS tries very hard to make its OS run well in those conditions. I too think that the real plague of windows is trying to excel in every configuration possible with devices that sometimes are hardly compatible. For the average customer (like me), it is easy to get lost with the varie...
To all of those who says that Mac are overpriced: I'm usung a 6 years old Powerbook right now. It has never needed any maintenance nor repair as for it's 2 other companions we used for business. We carry those laptops in cold, heat, rain, dust, and bumpy rides and are used for heavy video editing. Even with today standards, our computer are still very useful and reliable. We also have an 800mhz imac that is now in retirement as an internet terminal at my mother-in-law's home. Never broken ...
just check on youtube, there are many videos on how to open your ps3 safely. But you will void your warranty doing that, by removing the black sticker that covers the first screw. Once opened just clean it like you would do for a normal computer (avoid moisture and static) and by being careful not to blow dust inside the blu-ray player. It takes less than 15 minutes to open clean and close the unit. In my opinion this is better (if done carefully) for my ps3 than a manufacter warranty.
my 40gb is on 24/7 since I bought it 2 years ago (f@h, dvd/bluray player for the kids, music/photo server, and too many gaming hours ;) ). I do a full clean-up every 6 month (when i can notice it running...). Once the dust is out the ps3 just gets silent and well cooled again. Keep your ps3 clean and you will never need any cooling contraption nor to worry about it's lifespan. By the way, it's just a computer (albeit a cool one) so it's normal that over the millions of unit sold, some of t...
this is what my "name face" looks like....
exactly what i am thinking. Why don't we just simply use a mouse and keyboard with the ps3, since they are supported?
I use my PS3 not just for gaming, but also for blu-ray movie, "quick check" internet browser, media (audio, moivie, photo) server with medialink. It is a real media center. From the first day I plugged my PS3eye I wished I could make video calls via skype on my 120 inch projector. How about cool! This would be a lot easier for my kids to get in contact with the family (an opened laptop is very tempting for a full glass of milk...) As for me, cross-game chat is not the point why ...
yeah I remember when my girlfriend gave me a gamecube with a "coupon" for this game on christmas because she knew I was a great fan of Starcraft. she was really disapointed that the game never came out. We still joke about this years later.
good news. any app making a system more efficient is aways welcome. especially for those using windows, they were kind of mistreated for some years now. I hope this mac vs windows competiton will bring more fonctionality and performance to both
same thing here. I know it is a demo and most of the graphical/audio issues will surely be taken care of in the final build, but overall this demo left me on my appetite. Maybe the chapter they choose was not the right one for a demo, especially the part where your flashlight starts to flicker in pitch dark. That cuts the fun of exploring these hallways. The flash apparitions of Alma in this sequence are not scary but a ticket for epileptic reactions. I did not liked the HUD with the dist...
I have a panasonic PT-AE2000U and I have to say that yes, a 100inch 1080p screen is gaming heaven. Try one and you won't be able to use any TV after that. Just make sure you have a big enough room (12ft throw usually) that you can darken to acceptable levels. It's also nice to hide your audio/video setup behind the couch. Be careful with low-end models though...
well I fall in the core category. But since i typed the name of the creature in the picture above when i was "gaming" years ago (and again lately thanks to online play), i think I'm more of an aged core gamer. The wonder years of text adventure...
wow i didn't know that our Maudite was available internationally. It started as a micro-brewery which 10 years later (or so) got bought by the Sleeman group. If you like a beer on lees with high alcohol and complex flavours that's the beer for you. Personnally, it is one of my favourite on a cold winter night playing WoW or Eye of judgment in front of the fireplace.
@medicshelley1981 : I use my itunes playlists or shuffle my whole library. I use the controller to pause or skip.
It should not be a problem. I often use my dualshock3 as a remote control for my music server while I am outside my house (outdoor speakers ftw ). It works flawlessly even past 10 meters even if the ps3 is a couple of rooms away plus the oustside wall. Anyway, wireless HD sounds too good to be true.
We are working on this for a couple of days now

just a tought like that
Was there any discussion about the possibility of online storage (i.e. .mac)? This way you may gain permanent storage online and the Wii HDD can be managed to your needs. I'm sure that with some good thinking this could be done without sacrifying too much of the perfomance and versatility of a local HDD.
Maybe they are following the trend of using an ARG to promote the game. The page and the the Flash files are both named "Countdown", so we can assume that when the recording camera reaches its 72h limit, we will have access to a clue or another piece of the puzzle. A RE5 ARG would mean something nice to play with while waiting for this probably amazing game.
this kind of device will be seen more often considering the global trend toward augmented reality. nice!
