Why anyone would get excited or angry when a person from a corporation speaks ill of their competition is odd. What do you expect them to do, compliment their competition?
A realistic person recognizes that the Wii is indeed a competitor, regardless of Sony's protestations. At the same time, the technological advantage of a console does not guarantee it's longevity (Xbox>PS2).
While it remains to be seen whether Sony will turn it around, there is no doubt that t...
The reason GTA is more important to MS is it presents an opportunity to convert current PS2 owners to their platform;while Sony wants to retain them.
I was little dubious of the 360 shortage issue, but just returned from a Target, Game Stop and Best Buy in my area and all three were sold out completely. In fact, I could not find a copy of Turok for the 360 either. If they are short come GTA time it will be an enormous mistake.
There is no doubt that GTA made the PS2.
The real question is whether it will kill the PS3's chance to compete in NA. Everyone knows that there is a sizable chunk of PS2 owners who have not made the jump this generation, and this is probably one of the games that will move them. Since most of the folks who like GTA are in NA, the issue is which console do they choose?
It seems to me that the MS strategy is to convert these folks via GTA before the PS3 gains tractio...
I think everyone needs to relax. The article is certainly not news (at least not real news). The author was joking, and it was pretty funny.
The possibility of one of these companies purchasing the other is so remote, that it is practically inconceivable. Unfortunately for all of the haters and fan boys, both Sony and MS will be around to battle it out in the next round of the console war.
Typical woman psycho-babble. Like a bunch of you I am married, older (43), with kids, a home and a good job. I have also been gaming since the Atari days.
What the hell else are we to do with our spare time - watch TV, communicate with our wives (impossible half of the time)? Gaming is a healthy way of relieving stress, and can be relaxing. It sure beats hitting the bottle.
I think as more people purchase PS3's, more will use PSN. Both consoles sold well, so the membership of each service increased over the Holidays.
Lifendz to suggest that people on Live are worse is bs. The only reason Live appears worse is there are 10 times the amount of players. It does not matter where you are from in the world, there are always people who are a pain in the *ss.
No responsible parent would allow their child to play on Live or any other network of it's type. I do not allow my daughters to play on live for this very reason, just like they are not permitted to visit certain websites, chat rooms etc.

It appears that all 3 consoles/companies will survive until the next generation wars in a few years. Wii is clearly ahead, and 360 in second.
The issue that the Sony fans fail to recognize is that they murdered the GC and XBox last go around, and they are no where close this time. Maybe things will change, but it appears unlikely that they will catch either.
The real issue is what personal stake any of us have over how the other console sells. If all three are ...
All of three of the companies are trying to sell to the mass market. Hard core gamers are not the majority, but minority. Go play your games and enjoy yourselves.
This is for the sony fanboys: Don't talk smack when you are sitting in last place. Normal people would do so only when they are first.
This was always inevitable, even the Sony Fanboys knew it was coming. They denied it, but what do you expect? If I dropped (which I did not) $600 on a console/blu ray player with no games, I would not want anyone else to have fun either.
There may not be a 2008 for Sony. The next bomb will be GTA. All the kids who are thinking about buying 360's to play Halo3 with their friends, will have more incentive with that game coming down pike.
Although you have to admit,...
Whether Bungie stayed or not, it is unlikely they could produce another massive game like Halo with a new IP. It appears that the separation was mutual, and that Bungie did not particularly enjoy the corporate culture.
Right now the Sony fans should be concerned whether the PS3 is around long enough to benefit from a Bungie game in the future.
Dark - what he means is since the Wii launched at roughly the same time as the PS3 it has outsold it worldwide like 4 to 1. The Sony fans seem to ignore that fact, as well as the 360's lead over the PS3 not narrowing, but growing larger.
To assume that MS cannot continue to absorb these losses displays ignorance on the huge size of the company, as well as the ample cash they have on hand. If you recall earlier this year Sony took a massive hit on their laptop batteries, and w...
Anyone who thinks two price cuts in the first year does not indicate that Sony thinks the console is having issues is delusional. Why would a company take more of loss than they were taking at the higher cost if they thought everything was going along ok?
They miscalculated the market, and have decided to take a larger loss to stay in the game. Maybe it is possible that a majority of the PS2 owners gravitate to the console that meets their needs, not the one they previously ow...
It is very difficult to compare or predict each console cycle. None of us would have thought that Nintendo would be performing like they are right now.
Sony is in a tough spot (it does not mean they are going to lose) because the Wii has clearly grabbed the casual gamer, and MS is prying away former 3rd party exclusives. The worst case scenario for Sony is if MS drops their console price below the Wii prior to the holiday shopping. The parents who are doing the shopping will o...
What the hell do you expect them to say, "We have the crappiest games coming out this XMas so buy another console". They are a business just like Sony or Nintendo. They do not exist to make any of us happy, just their shareholders.
None of the three is innocent or guilty of anything unethical; they just want to separate you, your neighbors and friends from your wallets. It is amazing some of you can function in society believing that companies worry about you or you...
It always comes down to cost.
Everyone would like to own a Mercedes, but usually have to settle for something less expensive. The Wii is a budget model with a cool feature; the 360 has loads of features at a reasonable cost but reliability issues; and the PS3 all of the bells and whistles but very expensive.
Since I do not own a PS3 I don't care, but I have a question for those that purchased them at launch, does it bother you that Sony will be selling it for si...
XxZxX,
What country are you from, The Republic of Retardia? Who the hell are you to speak about the US?
Maybe the reviewers actually liked the game. All of the conspiracy crap is annoying. Some games are good, regardless of the system they are on.
There is no reason to hate a game or country.
Anyone posting about MS manipulating the ratings is retarded.Do you honestly believe that MS could pay off all of the reputable gaming publications in the world, and no one would know? If that were so, then why wouldn't MS pay them off to conceal the RROD or other deficiencies with the console?
Whatever is happening with Halo is good for the entire industry, not just MS. Taking games and culture mainstream benefits everyone, even Sony.
I am sure you Sony supporters realize that the 360 folks will not be visiting this forum for the next few months due to a certain game which shall remain nameless. Therefore, you will have ample opportunity to bash the 360 and the game, with no one attempting to rebut what you are saying.
Never the less, by now reality should have struck and you realize that Halo will make it very difficult for Sony to overcome MS at least in the US, and certain parts of Europe.

Not to nitpick your post, but the best way to play online is wired to the box with CAT5. Wi-fi produces too much lag. Therefore, the wireless issue is moot for most people.
The rest of your post is a matter of perspective. Although I like my HDTV, I find that my 36"CRTV is better for gaming; especially multiplayer.
I think everyone should acknowledge that MS took a gamble that appears to have paid off.
