Geez, really, dude? It's dumb because on one side, the initial Xbox One console IMMEDIATELY becomes obsolete; therefore, alienating those buyers. On the other side, as Pachter explains, it alienates retail companies. Either way, Microsoft messed up here if the rumor is true.
I personally don't 'obsess' over video game review scores, but as I'm sure a few have already stated, if I'm going to shell out $60 for something, I want to know if it's worth it. I tend to agree with most review scores, so that's why I wait. I don't think I've pre-ordered a game for the longest time simply because of this.
I don't know what's keeping them from developing Resident Evil Remake HD. The graphics were superb on the GameCube, and it would be so great to see now.

You'll never see consoles grow if a new one came out every 2-3 years. I still believe Xbox 360/PS3 has a lot of life still in them. I don't need a new console yet. There's still a lot of games to play.

I don't think this game was built from next-gen hardware. So you're probably just seeing a better looking PS3/Xbox 360 game.
In a perfect world, that makes sense. But what you may not realize is that a producer also has a more authoritative vote over a writer or a director. Perfect example is what's happening in Hollywood right now. Executive producers are quickly cashing in films that'll have a lucrative way to making profit. That's why you're seeing so many senseless remakes and long, exhausting franchises.
Producers aren't interested in how creative you can be. All they care ...
