What if Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced and it's release date was scheduled for a week later? You don't think that would set the internet on fire?
What if Crackdown 3 announced with full gameplay, cloud destruction, and beta, and scheduled a release in 6 months?
You're right, 5 years isn't a long time for developing a game. But 5 years is WAY waaaaaay too early to announce a game and hurts the gaming community imo. Devs need to only announce their game if it is a year or less away.
Actually watch Digital Foundry's unveiling and educate yourself on the amount of customization and work MS put in to remove the bottle neck for the scorpio.
MS just has to give their studios the creative freedom. We already know that they can build quality well-polished AAA titles (Gears/Halo/SoT), just allow them to be free with creating new universes and new story lines that aren't restrictive because they are continuations.
Stop betting on 3rd party studios (Remedy/Recore devs) to give you diverse games. Build new IP in-house and let all that talent you posses create something unique.
I will be more than satisfied with gameplay and 2017 release dates for crackdown, state of decay, cuphead, and sea of thieves.
