The reason is PS4 is not designed for media functions as xbox one. They might have promised some but not in a hurry to implement. Every time they add a feature, they have to do a thorough testing how it will work, otherwise it will consume the graphics resources. Xbox one has a dedicated OS for the features and thus it's much safer.
So, there won't be many updates on ps4.
