i think microsoft will do it right next time.
i think kinect was not thought about thoroughly. how can microsoft overlook this. If the majority of reviewers aren't recognize properly, then it's safe to say that they rushed this device into production and release it very early.
they should have still do a lot of works and research for it. the technology is not yet really there as promised.

i watched the video. and i can confirm the following based on the review:
1. this will flop in japan because of the huge space it requires.
2. tall men/small men (like the ones in lord of the rings) is not targeted for it.
3. poor lighting is a big issue.
4. dark people will have problems to be recognized.
5. navigating the dashboard is quite tiresome. remote/controller is still the best way to navigate menus.
6. the voice command? when...

whatever angle you look at it, the experience is the same. and eyetoy is way cheaper. and with less to no lag.
