I'm about halfway through and story wise, it's weaker/doesn't feel as epic. It's a prequel so it's understandable for a prequel to not be as epic as the finale. There aren't as many HUUUUGE boss fights we face. (Considering this was WAAAAAAAAAAAY before Kratos became superpowerul, SSM can't have Kratos doing crazier feats then he does in the main trilogy). Or else it would feel weird, playing as a younger Kratos who's more powerful then he ...
SSM should just wait like 3-4 years after the PS4's release, when they get familiar with the tech. Release GOWIV.

Naw dude, if they ever went into the Norse or Egyptian mythologies, than I personally would want them to create a whole new character. Start fresh.
But if they DO decide to continue Kratos' story, (which I don't mind at all, if Master Chief gets a whole new trilogy next gen, why can't Kratos? lol) then I would want him to take on the Primordials. But I do recall Halo 3 ODST and Halo Wars scoring somewhere in the low 80's. Like an 82 or something.
My point still stands of prequels/spinoffs usually scoring much less than main installments.

Lol, true. I honestly didn't think SSM could top the epicness of God Of War III with Ascension though. (They could be pretty damn close though).
Especially considering it's a prequel running on current gen hardware. I sorta knew it wouldn't be as mind blowing as III (It'd be a bit weird to have a prequel more epic than the end of the trilogy, lol).

But it's pretty common for prequels/spin off titles to score much less than main installments of the franchise.

Uncharted has pretty much NOTHING in common with the original Tomb Raiders kiddo, other than the fact that the main characters search for artifacts. From gameplay mechanics, to story presentation, to platforming sequences. etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if they delivered BOTH! An epic new IP and God Of War IV.
I'd prefer the new IP first of course. But once SSM feel COMPLETELY comfortable with the PS4, have Kratos take on the Primordials! Or create a spiritual successor to God Of War in the Norse mythology. lol
I'm sorry, but the king of the hack n slash genre still belongs to God Of War.
NO hack n slash game has yet to top God Of War III. Until God Of War IV on PS4 comes out. :D
