with all the stuff removed from the 40gb ps3 sku, it would be smarter to purchase the 60gb ps3 sku.
sony just wants to force gamers into buying more ps3 games by removing bC
if you have no bC, you don't have an option to run your favorite ps2 games on your 40gb ps3 sku... but everyone already knows that, so it's a no-brainer.
count me out, i wouldn't buy the 40gb ps3 sku because it lacks functionality, i'd rather go for the 60gb ps3 sku even if it costs a bit more.

it would be wise to say that sony should revamp their marketing strategy to focus on games & the ps3 as a games console, or this trend of crappy game sales may continue B3YOND.

to buy the 40gb ps3 - bc if one has ps2 games & would want more functionality,
conversely, if sony is phasing out the 60gb ps3 sku with bc, i would buy the 60gb ps3 sku before stocks of the 60gb ps3 sku with bc stocks run out.
as for the 80gb ps3 sku, i wouldn't want to recommend this because of the high price.
it would also be a convenient if sony gave names to their ps3 skus so they would be easier to identify.

if ps3 owners really believed in this game, it would have sold like pancakes, i guess the low lair review scores did their damage
sony has to reinvent their image in a marketing standpoint.
