the only complaints about COD mappack is that they are overpriced for essentially only 5 maps
BF3 dlc are not map packs, they can be seen as expansions with not only new maps, but new weapons, new vehicles, new trophies, possibly new co-op missions etc etc.

takes 4 - 6 shots to kill depending on distance. laser sight improves hip fire. learn to aim and learn to play
these need to be added: 2fort (team fortress), Wake Island (battlefield), fy_iceworld (CS 1.6), Complex (goldeneye).

its true. Looking at Jim Sterling's review of Dead Space 2 he gives it a 9.5 greatly praising the single player even when he admits the multiplayer is really bad.
Yet gives BF3 a 7.5 saying the multiplayer is one of the best out there but single player is disappointing? like WTF?
So game reviews from these "journalist" are single player bias. If you want to know

lol its funny how he says BF3 has pop-up and its not as visually good looking as Crysis 2 on consoles. i was like WTF are you smoking? I have bf3 and pop-up is barely noticeable. On crysis 2 it is huge. BF3 is easily the best looking multi-plat shooter on consoles. Dont know if on crack or just trolling

What do they expect from a purely multiplayer franchise? the purpose of military shooter singleplayers is to provide a somewhat plausible story that takes you around the world so you can shoot some people and blow things up. Which it does pretty good.
