Not sure what your point is, I know more powerful cards have higher bandwidth, that doesn't take away from my point and the less powerful card (780ti) is irrelevant seeing as it certainly couldn't keep up regardless of its mem bandwidth.
Your absolutely correct, Death obviously has no idea what the heck he's talking about, the fact that his comment has upvotes is quite alarming. However, one thing you're forgetting is that it is a fact that devs can always get more performance out of a console than the equivalent PC due to console efficiency and deep optimisation, just because these consoles are using x86 architecture doesn't mean they are built like Pc's, they are purpose built ri...
how the heck are you using a 2gb external?
As for the space required for the extra assets, that would be on a game by game basses. However, if want an idea just google, PC games already do this.
Well good for you if you'r rocking a gaming PC capable of that. That takes nothing away from the folks that rather spend $499 on a pretty capable console instead of $800 on a PC that will out pace it, that would be the price for a sizable and noticable performance boost over the 1X.. so it stands to reason that it should have better performance. Now for "way better performance" over the 1X, your talking about prices in the range of $900 - $1500. Im happy with the what im gettein...
What on earth has any of what you typed got to do with DF's video/article?
And since you decided to go there, where has this rediculous notion come from that the only games that matter are exclusives?🤔 One of my favourite games is HALO but there are many more games i like just as much as Halo that aren't exclusive to MS platforms and some that are exclusive to other platforms. A good game is a good game simple, now with 1X I can look forward to playing these games at ...
Like I have been saying for quite some time now, its 4K assets along with the higher effects settings and a higher resolution that will make the 1X versions of games be easily distinguishable from every other console version of games, especially on a 4K screen.
The downsampling improves the image quality overall... it removes jaggies and in turn will allow 1080p TV users to appreciate the 4K assets but just not to the same extent as a 4K TV user. Not to mention the higher graphic settings, more stable framerates, faster load times, this is a major upgrade for 1080p users and the perfect upgrade for 4K users.
Just as I have been saying, its 4K assets along with the higher effects settings and a higher resolution that will make the 1X versions of games be easily distinguishable from every other console version of games, especially on a 4K screen.

Oh looky here, it's Obj... the Sony apologist/fake neutral/undercover fanboy.
Aperently multiplates aren't games and shouldn't be descussed or made news worthy😂 Only exlusive games should be the topic of gaming news right? Rediculouse damage control comment🤣
Funny thing is I dont even think this is mainly Sony's fault, pretty sure its mainly EAs f-up and probably some dumb intern working for Sony's youtube marketing department u...
Oh well, im guessing they'll have to take it down or add a note saying... not indicative of PS4/PS4Pro gameplay. I cant help but think there would be a much louder noise made about this if the shoe was on the other foot.
I just explained it to you but i guess you have alternative facts.
Texures, lighting, shadders, heck even shadows are all considered assets withing the context of game development, fact. They can all be rendered a different resolutions that does not effect the final game geometry resolution, for example.. a game can output at native 4K but assets can be at lower resolutions (1080p, 1440p), this for memory size and bandwidth reasons.

4K assets = 4K textures/lighting/shadders, It is the reason why 1X has 12gb gddr5 at 326mb a second, 9gb just for games. The only other place you can get 4K assets at 30/60fps is on a pretty decent PC that will cost you over $700 easily.
A game running in 4K/CB/Dynamic with 4K assest included will look shockingly better than a game with the standard texture now running in a higher rez.
The PS4Pro can improve textures filtering/better ligh...
