And capitalism says to extract as much from their customers as they are willing to pay until they push back by not paying. The capitalist response is to refund and/or not buy as a customer who disagrees with the companies sales practice.

Say no to these practices that erode our ability to play PC games without PSN or Xbox sucking funds for no real value added.

PSN used to be free. My dial-up SNES (yeah it was a thing) was free too. Playing PC games onlin...

It’s about Sony not caring about this studio until it was successful, now they are exerting their control to improve their PC user base to make PSN eventually required for these games to play online, and thus their monthly fee.

This is about the future of gaming not about just signing up for a free account. Free isn’t free….

They’re releasing Sony titles on PC now.

In a couple years they’ll be offering Pc titles in their PS+

Again, it’s about habit changing now so they can claim you need it later, and by then it’s too late - they have the platform the user base and the storefront, devs can’t not be part of.

As a 45yo gamer with accounts everywhere, here is why I disagree with this “request”.

This isn’t for us. This is for Sony to manipulate numbers to boost PSN to further ingrain it into us that it’s fine to pay for monthly services simply to access the games we used to access for free.

These are stores, not just empty accounts. This ensures you are a legit person and not a fake account. This enables Sony to further erode the platform for which we use.

This is business 101.

These are massive companies who are here to make money, not please us gamers. They will charge whatever the market will bare, and will monetize everything they can until gamers stop buying.

People need to wake up and smell the capitalism that has come to gaming. They aren’t here for us any more, they are here for their profits.

We're exited for "We finished the game over 2 months after release!" Because ya know these were original release features. We have to stop celebrating getting a true 'gold game' after playing and paying for what is effectively a beta.

Yeah I had the OnLive service which was essentially the same thing. May have even been purchased by Google. But those games are gone of course after they went *poof*.

Let me play games I already own or can take to another platform. Don't make me buy a unique copy on a unique service that may not be here next year.

Sounds to me like a group trying to buy up old IP in an effort to create a library, pump up a couple choice titles to appear like a good purchase by one of the larger houses (apple, Facebook, Netflix, Sony, Microsoft, epic, etc).

Just a guess though. They certainly aren't doing it because they love these old games. It's all about the IP.

Isn't this for a game that is going to be going offline in March? 67% seems hardly a deal then.

Damn.

Wonder if i can play at 9:01 PST or if it's not going to unlock until midnight PST.

I wonder what that means for the digital copies. Are we locked out from playing until 12:01 EST?

Meh, this is typical for any PC title, isn't it? There will always be people trying to circumvent the system, and when they have full file access and on a system where you can literally control everything down to the network packet layer from the originating service, it's going to be easier to do so.

That is the primary reason I've been playing so many console titles instead of PC - I like to play online, and it evens the playing field. Sure, some people use lag s...

Appears to be working for me! I've already got access to the beta, but nice to pre-load a day before pre-loading begins (01/26).

Links were very helpful. Just had to be signed in, then clicked the links!

I had to use an incognito window to do the "purchase" but not sure if that's related to being Chrome on a Mac or something else with my browser install.

I would gladly pay it if I could get it here on the states! It's a massive statue that isn't made of plastic.

Destiny year one had expansions and content that went through most of the year. Year 2 doesn't, it has events but no new content - hence, its a ghost town. Yes, I played day one of destiny and enjoyed the hell out of it. However lack of added content/dlc in year two has clearly impacted the games player base over the last few months.

No DLC for The Division = dead game a few months post release. No DLC has been announced yet. No season passes as is typical. Its concerning...

You mean like all of the feedback so far? I've yet to read or hear from anyone that has played it that said it didn't live up to expectations or was lousy. Its an awesome game from the few days I played, only concern is content and longevity of it.

Now that gives me worry regarding content. 30 max level cap. The first Dark Zone was level 1-10, so likely only 4 of them (1-10, 11-20, 21-29, 30+) I traversed most of it quickly. The only thing I was concerned with after alpha was the amount of content.

Yes, you do have buildings and such but most of them you can't enter. You've got parking garages, some well known buildings (stadium, museum, etc) and the subway where missions will take place. Then there are the str...

Not going to call you cheap :)

I don't think you can claim ISP charges though. It's considered a utility now in the US, so by the logic that you need an internet connection you could claim the same about needing electricity. Its an old argument that holds no water anymore. Why not make the same argument about n4g having ads? We already pay our ISP to access the site.

The fact that you need to pay for online play, again not the publisher or game maker...

So several articles today and all the same sentiment - Division is a lot of fun.

It sounds like they all played the same thing we played in this alpha. Same content, but only a few hours access.

Its fun. Its different. Its an RPG with lots of group mechanics for both co-op and PvP. I'm looking forward to it. Bought a second PS4 for the wife so we can play it together.

This isn't VR and shouldn't be compared. PSVR is ps4 only, Rift and Vive are PC and potentially X1. From my understanding VR isn't used for movies or just any game - vr games only. That's severely limiting and very different from this.

This is a mobile personal screen like the avant glyph or some of the past Sony headsets that are for consuming content - either from your phone, PC, set top box, or console. It offers a private viewing and listening experience. ...
